There are so many things you don’t know while planning your wedding + just when you think you’re done planning, someone asks you what you’re doing for your rehearsal dinner. Another event with details.

Here’s a quick cheat of how we do them:

✨ Who attends the REHEARSAL?
- Anyone walking down the aisle. Bridal party, couple, parents.

✨ What time should the rehearsal be?
- I like to do them the same time as the ceremony so you know where the sun will be + how hot. It’s also easier for everyone to remember the next day.

✨ How does that timing work?
4pm-5pm Rehearsal
5-5:30pm Travel time
6pm-9pm max Rehearsal Dinner

✨ Who goes to the REHEARSAL DINNER?
Typically anyone that attended the rehearsal + significant others and sometimes a few extra close family members. Most rehearsal dinners are 15-30 people.

✨ Where do you do them?
Most of ours are private properties or the winery where they’re getting married. If you’re looking for some awesome welcome event or rehearsal dinner spots in the Okanagan, I’ve listed favorites below 👇🏼

Cristina + Richard’s sneak peeks of their day at .

There were so many thoughtful touches but my favorite was how every menu had a custom note written by the bride and groom that was printed by . Full blown sincere paragraphs to every guest of what they mean to them. They also wrote an adorable and funny poem for their thank you speech, had a sweet sign for those that had passed, the most beautiful custom vows, and no shortage of a party! It was a really special day.

Tips:

1. You always know if you’re grabbing a round or rectangle tablecloth out of the rental bin because a round will have 1 number (example: 120”) and a rectangle will have 2 numbers (example: 90x156”) on the tag.

2. Ironing is a crucial detail to having your tables look clean + classy. If you don’t have the time/help to do this, make time for the front of the head table so there aren’t large lines in your photos.

3. Always pick the full length linens. If it’s windy, pick a cocktail table linen that’s extra long so you can tuck it under and weight it.

My 14th summer season has officially started. Still wonder at every wedding how I got so lucky to do this for a living. 🤍

With larger bridal parties they opted to have the bridesmaids and groomsmen walk down the aisle and sit in the front row. Just their siblings stood on either side of them and the groom’s brother officiated a very special and heartfelt ceremony.

I used to say I never cry at weddings but so far this season I’m 2/2 so we’ve got ourselves a year of some insanely good vows.

Mom to Mom… I love knowing you truly enjoyed your son or daughter’s wedding day. Knowing you were able to relax and soak in such a big moment in not just their lives, but your own too, is a large part about what keeps us passionate about what we do. 🤍

Coupe Towers 411:

1) Use an incredibly flat + sturdy surface
2) We typically rent a max of 55 coupes for our towers
3) Ensure all the glasses are as tight as they can be
4) You’ll need 4-6 bottles of champagne unwrapped and ready to pour
5) I like to pre-fill the bottom two rows so you’re not wasting so much pouring from the top

6) Have the couple pass out the coupe tower to the guests surrounding them after and a server to collect the rest to go around with. This is the most natural transition for the couple to leave the area by cheers-ing their guests.

Wedding season kicks off next month at . It’s hard to believe it’ll be our 14th season planning weddings!

With hundreds of outdoor events under our belt, here’s some things I’d recommend for an outdoor ceremony in the Okanagan:

1. Water- pre + post ceremony, water is mandatory.

2. Over communicate the wedding is outdoors- you can’t emphasize enough to guests to dress accordingly

3. Mic your officiant- Yes you do need a mic. Yes you do need a good DJ. Your ceremony is incredibly special, no matter how quick it is! Ensure your guests can be a part of that experience by hearing it. Wind will greatly impact how well guests can hear- a proper mic works wonders.

4. Patio Umbrellas- if you don’t have these overtop of the chairs, have a few for the back of the ceremony so there is easy access to shade

5. July + August- in these months I recommend hand fans or ceremony programs for guests to fan off. I also recommend shortening your ceremony for July weddings. Guests stop paying attention when they’re sweating. You can bump your signing to after the ceremony privately to save about 5 minutes.
