Maybe it’s because they come from similar looking beans. Or because they’re both known to perk you up. Whatever the reason, coffee and chocolate were meant to go together – and this chocolate coffee loaf recipe from our friends at Melitta Quebec proves it once again.
Here’s everything you’ll need to put together this lovely loaf:
Loaf Ingredients:
1 & ½ stick butter at room temperature
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground Melitta® Espresso Bellacrema™️ whole beans
3 eggs at room temperature
1 egg yolk at room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup all-purpose flour
6 tbsp. cocoa powder
½ tsp baking powder
Coffee frosting:
1 stick of butter at room temperature
4 oz sweetened condensed milk cold
1 ½ teaspoon ground Melitta® Espresso Bellacrema™️ whole beans
½ tsp hot water

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) finely ground Melitta Colombia Altura Blend whole beans
- 1 cup (250 mL) milk
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) maple syrup
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) salted caramel
Recipe
- Brew coffee in coffee machine with 2 cups (500 mL) water or prepare using pour-over method.
- Pour milk into small saucepan; cook over medium-low heat, stirring often, for 3 to 5 minutes or until starting to simmer. Using frother or hand blender, whisk until frothy.
- Divide brewed coffee between 2 mugs. Stir in maple syrup and salted caramel. Pour frothed milk over coffee.
