The AIM Program

The AIM Program provides Saskatchewan with specialized educational programming that will enable and support inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome.

The AIM program is really all about what our name stands for: "Ability In Me." Children with Down syndrome have many abilities, and when specific learning strategies are used to target the skills required for successful life-long inclusion, those abilities within are brought out and strengthened. *If your child is entering Grade 3 this fall, or is graduating Grade 6 this June, you are free to complete the survey*

The University of Regina is seeking Canadian parents and caregivers of third to sixth grade students with Down syndrome to participate in our online research survey. The survey will ask parents and caregivers about their perspectives on:

o Their child’s friendship experiences
o Challenges they face supporting friendship development
o Strategies they use
o The role of schools in friendship development
o Their child’s mental well-being and social abilities
o Their own mental well-being and parenting style

The survey will take approximately 40-minutes to complete and can be found by scanning the QR code or by clicking the link below:

The Rise Strength Lab was full of happiness on Sunday as they hosted our first ever deadlifting competition!! 11 athletes from AIM collected pledges to compete and together raised a total of $12,195!! Thank you to everyone that sponsored our athletes and came out to cheer them on, we are beyond proud of all of them!! Special shout out to Jacob “Tyrannosaurus Flex“ for taking home the gold for his 125lbs lift and to Mykola “Kusya the Crippler” for collecting the most pledges!

On Sunday June 9th, participants from AIM will show us what they are made of at the "RISE UP FOR DOWN SYNDROME" deadlifting competition hosted by the Rise Strength Lab!!

Each athlete must collect pledges to compete. Proceeds will be used to support social events and gatherings hosted AIM's parent committee.

The sun is shining, it's Friday and we have a fun Event announcement from the new AIM Parent Committee!

ALL AIM learners are invited to help us raise funds and highlight their ability at the "RISE UP FOR DOWN SYNDROME DEADLIFTING COMPETITION" at the Rise Strength Lab in Saskatoon on Sunday June 9th.

Each athlete will collect a minimum of $250 sponsorship dollars to compete. register here:

To celebrate upcoming World Down Syndrome Day (March 21st), the Saskatchewan Down Syndrome Society is holding a do-it-yourself (DIY) friendship bracelet kit fundraiser.

For $21, each DIY kit includes an assortment of blue, yellow, gold, and white coloured beads, letter beads (see below), and string to create seven (7) friendship bracelets.

Letter beads included in each kit will spell:
- inclusion
- ⁠advocate
- ⁠with us
- ⁠lucky few
- ⁠friend
- ⁠community
- ⁠be you

Create, share, and exchange friendship bracelets with your friends and family to celebrate and raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Day this year.

We will accept orders from Thursday, February 8th to 11:59 PM Thursday, February 22nd. Please contact us at [email protected] to order your DIY friendship bracelet kit. Kits will arrive in your home before March 21st 💙💛
