I love a good before and after. We used oak panelling on the walls and ceiling to invite warmth into this space, highlight the expansive ceilings, and create a modern cabin aesthetic for this rental property. Minimizing the number of tones in the space made a small footprint feel more expansive, and created a feeling of calm and serenity.

For project r.019 we drew inspiration for the bathroom design from the simplicity and tonal palette of this image.

Highlighting the intersection between the kitchen and living areas of project r.019. Oak on oak on oak creates a beautiful and simple modern cabin aesthetic for this ski and mountain getaway.

For project r.019 we drew inspiration from simple and minimal composition and materiality. This image inspired raw, paired-down luxury, and a soothing of the senses.

All before and after are good, but this one is great. When a project spans multiple years, sometimes you forget what the space looked like when you started.

We turned a small, crowded and disorganized living and dining area into a warm, minimal and modern space for this Whistler rental property. Built-in seating in the dining area maximized floor space which allowed for proper clearances for circulation to the living area, as well as for a second seating area with counter stools in the kitchen. The benches also provide concealed storage for the linens and bedding the pull-out sofa in the living area, and they hide the internet router and various other electrical items.

A floating hearth lightens the visual weight of the fireplace and also allows for underlighting, adding a beautiful glow at nighttime.

We paneled the walls and ceiling with a golden hued oak to make the space feel warm and cozy, and to accent the beautiful vaulted ceilings and the blue of the lake views behind.

For project r.019 we wanted to design a space that felt calm and relaxing - a simple, yet beautiful mountain getaway. We drew inspiration from the simplicity of this scene, from the natural textures of the textiles and the neutral color palette. This image of ‘slowing down’ inspired a design that evokes a feeling of spa-like serenity.
