We are seeking a reliable and mature individual to help with our deliveries.

Duties Include:
-Loading and unloading products from van
-Ensuring orders and quantities are correct
-Delivering orders in a timely manner

Requirements:
-Must be 25+ years old
-Must have a clean driving record
-Must be able to work weekends and early mornings or evenings

Other Details:
If you are interested in this position, but also other opportunities at the bakery, we can create a flexible schedule to cross-train in other departments as well. This is a seasonal position that will run from May-August or May-October depending on your availability.

We are seeking a reliable, mature and enthusiastic baker to join our team.

Job Description:
-scaling and mixing batters and doughs
-forming and rolling breads and buns
-baking products using large rotating rack oven
-accept orders as needed
-maintain a clean and organized environment

Who You Are:
-2+ year scratch-baking experience
-experience working in a team setting as well as alone
-hard-working
-reliable
-have attention to detail
-can stand for long periods of time
-food safety handling certificate
-positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow

This is a seasonal position with full time hours. The season runs between May-October. Overtime may be required from time to time. You must be able to work on weekends. There is potential to grow within this position and within the company.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working individual to join our team working at local festivals, events and farmer’s markets.

Responsibilities:
-Assist in the creation, marketing and communication of events at Don’s Bakery
-Assist in set-up and tear-down of events
-Travel to various locations for events
-Coordinate and assist in product selection and quantities for weekly events
-Follow all company safety and security policies
-Sell and upsell products
-Promote brand and help increase awareness
-Follow up post event within 24 hours

We are seeking a reliable, mature and enthusiastic individual to help lead our retail team.

Duties Include:
-ensuring that the storefront/retail area operates efficiently
-ensuring customer satisfaction, handling complaints and concerns
-managing retail staff, scheduling
-ordering products and supplies
-marketing products
-some cashier duties when needed
-provide training for staff
-mentoring staff
-handling cash, closing registers at end of day
-counting inventory at end of day
-helping in production area when needed

Requirements:
-experience working in a retail environment an asset
-experience working in food service an asset
-reliable, responsible, hard-working
-excellent communications skills
-attention to detail
-can stand for long periods of time
-friendly disposition
-sales driven
-must be available to work on weekends
-must work well in a team
-quick learner and like to get your hands dirty!

This is a seasonal position from May-October. You will work hard for 6 months and play hard for 6 months. Additional hours may be available in the off-season (to be negotiated).

Beyond thrilled to share the Marky’s Sweet Treats Bakebook is here 🎉

We are pleased to be one of the OVER 80 contributors sharing a recipe for this digital Bakebook.

The book is in honour of Marky Czutrin who is a three times cancer survivor. Marky is the funniest and most charismatic 7 year old you will ever meet. At 3 years old, Marky was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. After 15 harsh months of chemo, he relapsed and underwent a bone marrow transplant at the young age of 4. Just a few months later, he had relapsed again but qualified for the newest form of treatment for blood cancers known as CAR-T cell therapy. Marky was only the 14th patient in Canada to receive this treatment and was the last patient on the trial before it became commercially available. It was this therapy that ultimately saved his life and it is because of this advancement in cancer treatment that Marky is a healthy, happy and thriving 7 year old boy.

Yay! Final long weekend of the summer! Please bear with us this weekend if things seem a little slower than usual as many of our staff have gone back home. We are working very hard and very long hours to serve you so please be patient as we are doing our best! Thanks to all our wonderful staff and wonderful customers for a great summer! We are looking forward to a great fall as well.

As we approach the last week of summer, many of our students are heading home and therefore we need to adjust our hours slightly. Thanks for a great summer! Fall hours will be posted shortly.
