Blake Productions Ltd

After 20+ years in Prince George & providing audio-visual support to events across the North, we have decided to close Blake Productions. We made the decision in late March & have now completed the event bookings we had committed to. It was an easy decision because of what we want to do next & how we want to spend our time, but a difficult decision because it’s what we’ve done for so long.

The last few years have given us more time together than we have had in 20 years & we still really like each other. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, especially through the pandemic to expand the commercial audio-visual integration services we already offered & to create a studio space to help our clients continue hosting their events & reaching their audience in a new way.

What we will miss the most are the incredible people –
- our clients who have trusted us with their events year after year; some annual events for as long as 19 years. With the variety of the events we’ve supported, from small meetings to large conferences to concerts to virtual events, from the initial planning stages to the time we packed up, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our time with you & your attendees.
- venue staff who have believed in us enough to feel confident making referrals to potential clients. Thank you for letting us take over your building & trusting us to fulfill your clients’ needs. We appreciate the working relationships we have built & consider the friendships a bonus!
- service providers, including event planners, we have worked alongside, coordinating times & equipment behind the scenes so that we could all get the work done without added stress to the client or venue. It’s been amazing to work with your teams for long days & we’ve appreciated the camaraderie & laughs.
- the members of the BPL team – no matter how few or many hours you worked with us, you contributed to the events we supported & we couldn’t have done any of that without you. You showed up for us & our clients regardless of if it was -30 or +30, rain, sun or smoke (during the forest fires). Some of you have literally moved thousands of tons of equipment over the years. You worked extremely long days to accommodate set up, operating & strike of the events & barely complained. Best of all, we had fun doing it.

If you thought we were done, we’re not. Brent’s passion for home audio started at age 13 & all things come full circle. We are excited to re-open a store that initially started in Prince George in 1975 (with the blessing of the original owners, Jim & Chrisse Chandler). On Thursday this week, J&A Stereo+ (the ‘+’ represents the additional services that J&A will offer – these include the continuation of commercial installations & sales of PA, lighting & AV equipment) opens & we hope you’ll stop by to see us at #5 – 1839 1st Avenue. We might also see you at some events…we’ll be in the audience!

Today we helped University of Northern British Columbia celebrate their employee recognition awards - they didn't want to wait any longer to acknowledge long term service, service excellence & creative initiatives. Over 225 staff joined the celebration. We've never seen so many cameras open for an event & the chat was full of congratulations & cheers!
