About Us

We are dedicated to ending violence in our homes and communities. As equality-seeking organization’s whose mandate is to address violence at its roots, we educate and advocate, increase awareness around the issues of violence, and lobby for enhanced services in the prevention and early intervention of violence. A group for change, our organization’s brings together diverse perspectives to facilitate a crucial dialogue between government and community concerning policies, strategies, and front-line responses.

There are ten Violence Prevention offices throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, working in partnership with the Violence Prevention Initiative, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Our Core funding is provided by the Women's Policy Office of NL, under the Violence Prevention Initiative.

The Violence Prevention Initiative of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador reflects government’s commitment to addressing the problem of violence in this province. The Initiative is a multi-departmental, government - community partnership to find long term solutions to the problem of violence against those most at risk in our society - women, children, youth, older persons, persons with disabilities, Aboriginal women and children and other people who are vulnerable to violence because of their ethnicity, sexual orientation or economic status.
