Fab Film Fest is thrilled to feature Never Enough Night by Andrew James Paterson, on July 11, at 6:30pm – 8:00pm, at the Durham Art Gallery.
Never Enough Night is a selection of short films, representing a cross-section of work, ranging across the artist’s career. This presentation acts as an extension of the recent exhibition at the plumb gallery in Toronto. The show, which opened April 26 2024, was the most extensive survey exhibition of the seminal Canadian artist’s work to date. The exhibition included a vast selection of Paterson’s video work spanning from the early 1980s through to the present, as well as poetry, painting, music, archival material, a live performance series, and an original catalogue available through Art Metropole.
Curated by Laura Carusi, Anthony Cooper, and Kate Whiteway

The Fab Film Fest is delighted to feature "We Live Here", a Darling Pearls & Co Video Art Programme from July 11 - August 8 at The Durham Art Gallery
We Live Here presents video art pieces by an international set of artists in which architecture-based rituals were performed and recorded as acts of resistance or reflection on situations that are part of their daily lives. Their practices are each, in their own unique way, intertwined with these urban spaces, thereby also creating a personal site-specific documentation that subsequently becomes part of art history.

Fab film fest is proud to feature ROSIE, a film by Gail Maurice, on July 18, at 9:00pm – 11:00pm, at the Hanover Drive-in
ROSIE is a film about family, love, and misfits, ROSIE tells the story of a young, orphaned, Indigenous girl who is forced to live with her reluctant, street-smart Aunty Fred (Frédérique). Rosie is thrust into the fringes of 1980’s Montréal into the care of Fred, who just lost her job, is on the verge of eviction, and who looks and sounds nothing like her. Fred, an artist who creates art from found and discarded objects or other peoples’ trash, introduces Rosie to her two best friends Flo and Mo, glamorous human beings who refuse to be confined by gender. In the end, Rosie transforms the lives of these colourful characters and finds love, acceptance, and a true HOME with her new chosen family of glittering outsiders. Stay tuned for the schedule!

How do you run a film festival in a rural area? By getting creative.
The Fabulous Festival of Fringe Film brings one-of-a-kind opportunities to Bruce-Grey arts aficionados. World-renowned film screenings, guest artists and curators, workshops, locally-produced films, live performances, and lots of networking and social celebration.
Based in the Town of Durham in the rural municipality of West Grey, and Saugeen First Nation, we utilize a variety of unique settings (think along the lines of a beach at sunset, a Conservation Area, and a barn).
Check out fabfilmfest.ca for more details. We look forward to sharing film, performance arts, and companionship.
Miigwetch, Thank You.
