Rotary is a worldwide organization of professional businessmen and businesswomen that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. If you have been thinking about getting involved in a service organization, we welcome you to find out more about what Rotary has to offer. Locally, the Denver-Eph
🔵🟡November is Rotary Foundation Month 🔵🟡
The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.
As the charitable arm of Rotary International, we tap into a global network of Rotarians who invest their time, money, and expertise into our priorities, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Foundation grants empower Rotarians to approach challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact.
• Remember Giving Tuesday, November 29– and support our Foundation.
• Sanitation and hygiene are key to disease prevention and good health. Don’t forget World Toilet Day on November 19!
Student Alyssa Vasyanovich was today's Student of the Month. This savvy future business leader shared her love of numbers and even her experiences in the Investment Club at Ephrata Area SD.
Rotarian Tyler Eberly followed this motivated senior with his classification speech, then introduced Tara Zilling.
From a very personal perspective, Tara shared the mission of the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation (OI Foundation). Also known as "brittle bone disease," this genetic bone disorder affects up to 50,000 people in the country.
Locally, the OI Foundation holds the annual Unbreakable Spirit Golf Tournament to raise funds to support the Foundation's efforts.
Thank you to our sponsors who made this event possible! Haupt Wealth Management of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, Hippey's Meat Company, Servpro of Adamstown, Mohnton, American Legion Post 429, Ephrata Performing Arts Center, Mainspring of Ephrata.
The finances raised from this fun event supports our local nonprofit organizations.
Congratulations, Alyson Dreihaup, for being our Cocalico Student of the Month. Alyson shared how grateful she was to teacher, Mr. Buck, for being an incredible source of encouragement and inspiration. She also shared her plans to pursue elementary education.
Our guest presenter, Mike Cahill, described the mission behind his nonprofit organization, Team Jennifer Cahill Charities. Our female veterans sorely lack adequate healthcare support -- both in services and financially. His charity is determined to build more equity in a flawed system and to better honor all of our veterans.
Finally, we heard from Rotarian Mike Shober who shared an incredible employment history and experiences leading up to his current position at Tabora Painting LLC. Mike reminded us how important establishing processes are within our working spheres.
Thank you to all of our presenters this morning for an inspiration hour!
The past week Rotarian, Mayor Ralph Mowen invited Ephrata Police Department Police Chief McKim and Steve Aronson, founding member of Friends of the Ephrata Police.
