Ramona is a 1884 American novel written by Helen Hunt Jackson. Set in Southern California after the Mexican–American War, it portrays the life of a mixed-race Scottish–Native American orphan girl. Locations all over Southern California tried to emphasize their Ramona connections.

Quanah Parker Chief of the Comanches c.1910
Quanah Parker, (born 1848?, near Wichita Falls, Texas, U.S.—died February 23, 1911, Cache, near Fort Sill, Oklahoma), Comanche leader who, as the last chief of the Kwahadi (Quahadi) band, mounted an unsuccessful war against white expansion in northwestern Texas (1874–75). He later became the main spokesman and peacetime leader of the Native Americans in the region, a role he performed for 30 years.

Le document date du 20 mai 1725, elle prête le serment le 24 juillet, Louis XV et Marie se sont mariés le 4 septembre, et Lemoine est enregistré aux registres du contrôle général de la chambre le 9 novembre
Elle fut dame de chambre de 1725 à 1764.

Life in the arid and burning desert is terrible those prospectors or gold searchers. I crossed it in an automobile 24h. I put in 10h without seeing a village, however every 40 kilometers we are charmed by seeing people living in a tent like them --- opposite

1783 parole document for Lt. Dufay, French Officer in the Picardie Regiment, captured in the naval battle of the 22nd January 1783 in Chesapeake Bay between his ship, the Sybille and the British ships HMS Centurion, HMS Hussar and Terrier. This is a true copy of his parole, whereby he will be exchanged for a British officer of same rank, and is signed by Thomas D. Hewlings, the British Deputy Commissary of naval prisoners at New York. The capture of the Sybille was controversial
Eastern Atlantic November 17th 1917 on board destroyer U.S.S. Fanning, surrendered German submariner from U-58 which had been depth charged. The first of two U-boats to fall victim to US Navy destroyers in World War I.
