A little Christmas cheer to help you ring in the new year.
Don't quit. Rest.
It's easy to get dramatic when we feel overwhelmed and like we just can't take another step. We tend to take our emotions in the moment to extremes that throw us off balance and create unnecessary energetic blockages because we're still learning, and that's OK. As we begin to broaden our perspective and see the big picture though, we begin to recognize that everything in nature operates in cycles. Every process within us and around us has a frequency that oscillates between peaks and valleys.
Acknowledging the big picture, we gain the awareness that this moment shall pass and it will also come around again. This is the mindset that allows us to play the long game, live a full life and find fulfillment in every single day, regardless of our level of productivity. Instead of giving up on something that we feel drawn to but also incapable of pursuing at this moment in time, we can have compassion for ourselves and allow ourselves to rest, knowing that the opportunity will present itself again when we are ready for it.
This week, I am taking a break from social media and Mindful Monday. My intention with this break is to give myself the space to reconnect with myself, my music and my surroundings. The space between the notes is just as important as the notes themselves. See you all next week!
Join me on Instagram Live today at 1:11 pm as I chat with Sonia of about sound therapy for reducing stress and improving mind-body connection!
I'll be a guest on live feed! Come with your questions and stay for the chakra activation. :)

Fiddle feels so good to me. My fingers dancing along the strings and my bow skipping across to pick up every note. It's one of the things that allows me to forget about all of my worries and fears and just be with the music. I become the music and everything else fades away for a while.
Where do you feel good? What's your oasis?

A little sneak peak of the next song I'm going to cover. Love me some classic rock, and this one always brings me those summer time vibes. This was some great practice for my finger styling and I welcomed the challenge that had me focusing intently on each and every single note. Setting me up for a week of focus, fulfillment and soaking up the sun. Keep an eye out for the full song cover this week!
Are you finding it difficult to focus? Are there things you'd like to be able to do but can't seem to sit down and actually do them? This is likely caused by some fragmented energy at one of your chakras! DM me to learn more :)
Simple in theory...
But what does it actually mean to "love yourself"? I've been delving into some shadow work lately at a whole new level, and with that has come a deeper understanding of self love.
How do we love the parts of ourselves that we hate? A good place to start is just acknowledging that there ARE some parts that we hate, and recognizing which parts those are. For me, it was a bit surprising to find the amount of anger and resentment I was harboring towards a few parts of myself. Especially parts that, when I looked at them, really didn't deserve that amount of hatred. A good thing to remember when doing shadow work is that it doesn't have to make "sense" to have a huge impact on your life.
We have so much programming that has been passed down to us through our family lineage and left over from past lives that it's not all going to make sense in the context of this day and age. And that's exactly why it needs to be released. At some point in time, it did serve us or our ancestors, allowing us to survive or even thrive in the environment of the time, but it might be causing us a lot of grief now.
Shadow work is all about setting the intention to find these programs, expressing gratitude and love for what they have done for us in the past, and releasing them to allow our energy to flow in the way it wants to in the present. To love yourself, you must learn to love your shadow.

A little for this dreary Monday. The rain and can be peaceful and calming if you surrender to it. Grab a warm cup of tea or coffee to beat the chill and if you're working from home, take a second to be thankful that you don't need to get wet today!
This is a trickier piece than we originally thought and it was only in trying to play it that we really appreciated the complexity of it. Such a cool song.

You have everything you need. You don't need fancy instruments or years of training to create music. Your body is an instrument, and a powerful tool for healing.
Just by humming and breathing at a constant rate, you are slowing your heartrate, lowering your cortisol (stress hormone) levels, massaging your cells with the vibration and connecting mind and body. Hum along and observe the difference in yourself afterward. It doesn't have to be hard.

I am not comfortable playing the flute. Every time I pick up a wind instrument, I am humbled and very aware of my breath. It is in the challenge that we find growth though, so I welcome the opportunity to develop my relationship with the flute and my lungs.
Do you play a wind instrument? How does your breathing change after playing for a bit? .

I had an audience this morning. As I played, a little girl and her mom were walking by outside and stopped to listen. My heart swelled, seeing the look on the little girl's face and the mom gave me a smile and applauded.
It's been a little strange, playing to an audience I can't see for so long now. This was such a good reminder that music is valued and can light up someone's day, and a good reminder to me that even though I might not always see them, there are people watching and enjoying what I have to share. It can be hard for me to remember that sometimes. So, this one goes out to the little girl and her mom, with a thank you for their applause and smiles. And also to Kelly Anastasopoulos who requested fiddle today.

These are the chimes I regularly use to open up the heart space in my one-one-one sessions. As you listen, feel the chest expand and contract with every breath. Allow for that movement to release any grief or agony your body is holding. The heart wants to be as light as the chimes and holding onto those emotions will weigh it down.

We spend so much of our lives trying to be like other people, instead of embracing who we are. We can learn from others, and be inspired by the things they do, but chasing someone else's dreams leaves our own dreams undiscovered.
My intention for today's Mindful Monday was to learn by . While I did learn that beautiful song, when I sat down to play it for the video, I couldn't remember the exact tune. Instead of holding myself to someone else's song, I made up my own, inspired by their vibes.
Your mantra for this Mindful Monday is "I am worthy of my dreams".

These forks are the reference frequencies for third eye, heart, and solar plexus. My intention for this sound was to infuse the energy of the third eye into the other two centers, as I use this fork as the striker.
The third eye is the center that governs our inner guidance and intuition. Tapping into our intuition, we will know how to step into our purpose with confidence (solar plexus), and from a place of love (heart) in the newly emerging world.
If you're struggling with finding your purpose in this new landscape, send me a DM or book a complimentary discovery call. I'd love to chat with you!

One of my favourite rainy day tunes, this melody always serves to remind me that there is beauty in solitude, in slowing down, and in winter. Spring will come again, and this too shall pass. Don't lose hope.

It's so inspiring to see people helping people in this time of chaos and uncertainty. It lifts my heart to see what humanity is capable of when we are put to the test, and when we come together as one.
Seeing so many GIVE without thought and LOVE without clause is melting away the programming I have around money, survival and self-worth. It is making it easy to give myself permission to do what I love, just because it lights me up. When we allow ourselves to shine, we become beacons for others and perpetuate the awakening of hearts.
And this really is our time to shine! Our time to share our talents and gifts with the world. It is hiding who we are and denying ourselves the joy of doing the things we love and excel at that has been creating all of the suffering in the world.
I LOVE to work with sound energy, and I'm so excited to announce that I'll be offering a virtual live tuning session for FREE every Sunday at 8 pm! Tune in as I balance and synchronize each chakra with my Solfeggio Frequency tuning forks! Find the link in my bio, and I'll see you Sunday. ;)
I feel all of the turmoil. I feel all of the shifting. We are in the final throes of a dying civilization. We are in the first stages of a re-birth. Chaos is not random. Chaos is necessary for transformation. Chaos allows for shifting. Breathe into it and let it show you the wonders it will bring.
Find a comfortable seat. Headphones in. Volume up. Hands over your heart. Allow yourself to be here. Be now. Be present. Allow the emotions to flow through you. Breathe into them. Follow them. See where they take you.
Sending everyone love, peace and good vibes. We've got this.

Your mantra while listening to this mindful Monday is: "Fear has no power over me". You can see the power of this drum in the way it shakes the video - sound made visible. We are sound. We are vibration. We are powerful. The drum is here to remind you of that this week. .

I have wanted a partner to make music with for so long that this still seems like a dream. It took me acknowledging that desire and letting go of programming that was preventing me from allowing that partner into my life to manifest this as my reality.
We're so excited to announce that we've got an album in the works, and our intention is for it to be a "living album"! This means that and I will be posting videos of us jamming and developing original songs so you can follow along with the process and put your 2 cents in!

Keeping it simple has been one of the most challenging lessons for me. The programming that if it's not hard and complex, it's not worth doing and won't be valued runs deep in my family lineage. With this mindful monday, I am reinforcing the program I've been replacing that obsolete mindset with.
My mantra to integrate this work is: "it doesn't have to be hard". Speak this to yourself either out loud or in your head as you listen to these tones today. Allow the universe to show you how easy and enjoyable life can be.

Fresh strings, old tune. One of my favourite songs, this melody was a challenge for the ear to learn. You don't fully appreciate the talent someone has until you set out to replicate what they've done. And once you've embraced the fact that you do things differently, then you can have some fun making it your own. I'm thinking of recording this one and adding violin. Is that something you'd like to hear? Gimme a shout out in the comments if so!
Have you been very critical or judgemental of someone lately? Have you attempted whatever you are criticizing them for?

Partnership. It's a song and dance, but it doesn't have to be hard. It takes knowing yourself, knowing how to listen to your inner voice so that you know how to really listen to what someone else is saying. .
It's not just the words. It's what lies between the words as well. Body language, tone of voice, and energy are some of the other subtle ways we communicate, and being present with your partner is the best way to pick up on what they are saying in all of these languages.
Playing music with others is an amazing way to develop your listening abilities, and one that I encourage all of my musical clients to take advantage of. The call and response of instruments (especially in an improvisational session, as this video was) trains the brain to observe the individual frequencies you're creating, as well as the interference pattern your frequencies are creating with the other person's. Developing this awareness allows you to adjust your playing to build an interference pattern (what we call "music" ) that is more pleasing to the ear than just the individual frequencies on their own. .
Even if you're not musical, learning to tune-in to yourself and the frequencies you're sending out into the world is an excellent first step to developing your communication with the important people in your life. The inner world is reflected in the external, and vice versa.
For the month of February, I'm offering Couples Sound Therapy sessions to help you and your Valentine find common wavelengths to communicate with! DM me for details and let's get you lovebirds singing some beautiful harmony ;) .
