Due to popular demand, we have had requests for another NW Summer Skate Camp. Well, here’s your chance! It’s even at our reduced rate of $339 + fees and taxes because it’s a shorter week.

Due to the short notice nature of this Summer Skate Camp, we need a minimum of 15-20 participants registered on the waitlist to be able to move forwards with this Summer Skate Camp.

Please note that we will be making a decision about this potential new Summer Skate Camp on Monday, July 22nd, so all registrations must be in by then.
 
If we have sufficient interest by the 22nd, we will process the registrations and charge the credit cards we have on file for each participant, and you will receive an email confirming the successful registration. If we do not have sufficient interest by the 22nd, we will notify all those on the waitlist by email that we did not meet the reserve.

Yesterday we had our second session with the PEER Program by !

We are so thankful to be able to volunteer our time and world-class skating instruction to run skating sessions with the PEER Program every year 💚

PEER (Pediatric cancer patients and survivors Engaging in Exercise for Recovery) is an evidence-based exercise program developed by researchers at the University of Calgary Health and Wellness Lab in collaboration with oncologists at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. PEER is designed for kids on or off cancer treatments and their siblings.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended Debby Fisher’s Celebration of Life that was held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta, where over 100 friends and family gathered to pay tribute to her amazing life and lasting legacy.

Through generous donations of the attendees, $2,500 was donated to the Canadian Cancer Foundation in Debby’s honor.

The Graham-Fisher family, with support from Alien In-Line and Calgary Speed Skating Association, are hosting a memorial event to celebrate the wonderful life of Debby Fisher, who passed away surrounded by her family on January 1, 2024.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our friend and colleague, Debby Fisher.

Debby passed away on January 1, 2024, surrounded by her family in Ontario.

Debby was an amazing individual who brought incredible energy to every endeavor she pursued - an energy matched by few.

What a huge champion and icon for skating development she was, impacting all levels of skating, from grassroots to elite.

She left an indelible mark on everything she touched and her legacy is carried forward through every bit of instructional techniques and approaches that she shared with so many.

She was a driving force in so many ways for so many young lives as they carved a skating pathway for themselves, and her skills and expertise with youth, especially younger skaters, was unrivalled in our experience.

We take great comfort in the fact that much of who she was and what she sought to accomplish is carried on through our present and continued work.

You were truly someone special, who made your presence known in so many ways, the ripples you made in the pool radiated for miles and lifted others up, and you made a difference in the lives of so many.

We had the great pleasure of working alongside you for over a decade and we cannot believe that you are gone. You will be missed by all, but there are few who can say they lived as full a life as you did.

Thank you for always being so strong.
