How is April half way through already???
Is it just me, or did this month seem to FLY by?! Did you set any goals for month end, and if so, how are you making out with them?
When i'm feeling overwhelmed, between month end and projects and the Holidays in general, I like to do the following to keep an eye on my goals:
1. Sit down with a cup of coffee
2. Grab my planner, and write down all of my deadlines (Business and Personal).
3. Break down each projects into steps/tasks by week. Then by day! This allows me to know when I'm on track, ahead of the game, or need to put in some extra hours.
If you're feeling bogged down by the busyness of April, I hope these tips help you.
Never limit yourself! Fight for what you want, big or small!!
Schedule time to stay organized 📅
Set aside time--15 to 60 minutes each week to keep your finances organized. Depending on your situation, this may include adding data to your financial software, scanning receipts, filing, reviewing financial reports, paying bills, invoicing, collections, etc. Put it on your calendar and treat it like a priority.
Business organization strategies are essential if you want to keep your finances in order. Without a system in place, you don't know if your business is profitable (and nobody wants that). Plus, it will help you avoid headaches at tax time. Establish a system that works for you.
Happy Monday!!!
Outsource if You Need To. Remember, you don't have to be an expert in everything. If you're unsure about any part of the bookkeeping process -outsource it!
Find the right small business bookkeeper, who has meticulous attention to detail, someone you can trust to not only find any issues, but advise on ways to help grow your business.
Ensure they've got in-depth knowledge, specifically to your industry is a bonus, and, most of all, make sure they're reliable and organized.
Where are my fellow entrepreneurs? Some days are all about making big moves. And I'm not kidding when I say big moves were needed to get all my customers set and ready to file their month end. I'm so happy I was able to help them clean up their books, catch up, and be able to provide them with financial reports. Are your books in order?
Do you need to reconcile your bank and credit cards often? The answer is- Yes!!
Reconciliation is an integral part of bookkeeping for small businesses. Ideally, you want to be doing small reconciliations on a weekly basis and at the VERY minimum on a quarterly basis.
You need to ensure that any discrepancies are resolved there and then, whether it is 1 cent or 100 bucks, you want your end of year financial statements to be accurate and if what's showing in your books doesn't match what's in the bank there's going to be an issue. Weekly reconciliation is quick and makes it easier to pinpoint discrepancies if there are any.
Additionally, if you need to make an important business decision for the company, being on top of your finances is essential as you need to know whether or not what you're taking on is financially viable!!
Happiness ignites purpose, purpose fuels passion, passion leads to success!
It all starts with Happiness!!
