Simply put, eczema becomes a sign that your body is inflamed. The solution, then, becomes figuring what’s wrong inside your body and reducing that inflammation, NOT slathering potentially dangerous stuff onto your skin.

The root cause of eczema is a disturbance in your immune system. Your body is overreacting to something attacking you or inside you.

Let me be more specific. If I had to narrow down eczema to two primary causes, I would say: Leaky gut or abnormal gut flora.

1. Try my elimination diet. The two most common and harmful food sensitivities are gluten and dairy. My 10-Day Detox Diet eliminates these along with sugary, processed foods, resulting in reduced inflammation and results in just 10 days.

2. Eat plenty of wild-caught fish and a colorful array of plant foods, and use spices like turmeric liberally. Fish oil and curcumin are among my favorite anti-inflammatory supplements.

3. Prebiotics, probiotics and digestive enzymes are among the things I use to normalize healthy gut flora. Please keep in mind it may become necessary to work with a Functional Medicine practitioner to address gut issues, but removing food sensitivities and incorporating gut-healing nutrients are entirely within your power.

Restoring normal gut flora reduces overall immune activation and many inflammatory diseases including asthma, eczema, rhinitis and inflammatory bowel disease.

4. Studies show sleep loss fuels the flames of inflammation, exacerbating eczema and other conditions. That’s among the many reasons you want to aim for eight hours of quality, uninterrupted sleep every night.

And make sure to supplement daily with fish oil, evening primrose oil, and vitamins D and A.

5. Studies show regular exercise reduces inflammation and boosts your immune system. You can try yoga, go for a walk, hike, or bike ride.

6. Besides making you absolutely miserable, studies link chronic stress levels with inflammation. Whether you do meditation, deep breathing, yoga or another form of stress reduction, make it a priority and do it regularly.

🥑 ‘Avo’ good day with this Chocolate Avocado Pudding!

Ingredients:
- 1 avocado
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- Stevia to taste
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 scoop Arbonne Essentials® Protein Shake or Protein Shake Mix Meal Replacement - Chocolate *

Instructions:
1. Pour all ingredients into a large mixing
bowl
2. Thoroughly mix using a blend/stick
blender
3. Chill in fridge for 30 minutes before

Do you get enough magnesium?

Think of magnesium as the relaxation mineral.

You must have magnesium for your cells to make energy, for many different chemical pumps to work, to stabilize membranes, and to help muscles relax.

The reason we are so deficient is simple: Many of us eat a diet that contains practically no magnesium — a highly-processed, refined diet that is based mostly on white flour, meat, and dairy (all of which have no magnesium).

Anything that is tight, irritable, crampy, and stiff — whether it is a body part or an even a mood — is a sign of magnesium deficiency.

Including the following in your diet as often as you can:

Kelp, wheat bran, wheat germ, almonds, cashews, buckwheat, brazil nuts, dulse, filberts, millet, pecans, walnuts, rye, tofu, soy beans, brown rice, figs, dates, collard greens, shrimp, avocado, parsley, beans, barley, dandelion greens, and garlic.

I also highly recommend a daily magnesium supplement.

The most absorbable forms are magnesium citrate, glycinate taurate, or aspartate, although magnesium bound to Kreb cycle chelates (malate, succinate, fumarate) are also good. To properly absorb magnesium we need a lot of it in our diet, plus enough vitamin B6, vitamin D, and selenium to get the job done.

Avoid magnesium carbonate, sulfate, gluconate, and oxide. They are poorly absorbed (and the cheapest and most common forms found in supplements).

Working at an AMAZING chocolate shop before the holidays had me eating a little TOO much of the wrong things... & it’s a slippery slope. I know better, but I am human, we all make mistakes.

I need to get back on track & THIS is what I know works.

I can feel the inflammation in my old injuries creeping back in. I want that gone again.

I lived with over 20 years of nagging pains in my arms, shoulders, knees & hips

(I was a highly competitive dancer from the age of 6-18)

UNTIL- the first time I did the 30 days to healthy living!!
I never actually thought it would work (skeptical)
I am a believer now. I cannot even describe the difference my body feels when I remove the inflammatory foods. I quickly learned (the first time) what foods make me feel awesome & which foods do not.
For three years now it’s been a lifestyle, not a “diet” & I haven’t fallen off the healthy lifestyle wagon per-say, but I know that sugar & dairy are some of the triggering foods for me (yummy chocolates 😋)

I’m jumping on board January 7th. because I’m worth it. Time to reset my digestive system to work optimally.
