Oshkwazin

Welcome to Oshkwazin

Oshkwazin is a leadership program for Indigenous high school aged youth. It is a space to discuss issues that matter to you, meet other Indigenous youth, improve team building, gain volunteer experience, receive traditional teachings and knowledge and learn about Indigenous issues. It was created and is supported by TRACKS in Nogojiwanong (Peterborough, Ontario). Oshkwazin is an Anishinaabemowin word that means “to light your internal fire”. Oshkwazin is based out of the Indigenous Environmental Studies and Science Program at Trent University, which works to bridge the gap between Indigenous knowledge and western science.
