Cancer survivor's annual mega-run ends after 12 years, $1.8M raised

ONERUN has raised a total of $1,769,097 since 2010. All funds have gone towards cancer support programs to help those battling with cancer in the province of Ontario.

End of an era 💜

ONERUN Founder and Executive Director, Theresa Carriere, has announced that the ONERUN organization is retiring. Created in 2010, ONERUN has had 12 successful years of raising awareness and funds to support cancer patients and their families.

ONERUN began with one cancer survivor, Theresa Carriere, running one hundred kilometers in one day. What was originally intended to be a single event, then developed into a full organization with a dedicated volunteer team and thousands of supporters.

In total, ONERUN has raised an incredible $1,769,097 for Wellspring, Childcan, St. Joseph’s Health Care and the London Health Sciences Centre. In addition to the money raised, Theresa Carriere and the ONERUN team have inspired hope in the community. ONERUN has visited almost 200 schools in 12 years to share the message From Challenge to Triumph to students and staff all throughout Ontario.

Theresa Carriere stated, “I am beyond grateful for my family, friends and hundreds of volunteers who committed countless hours of their time, energy and talent for ONERUN. Thank you to the sponsors and supporters who gave generously, each and every campaign. We have been blessed to have had the opportunity to collaborate with so many amazing people, who worked tirelessly to create something incredibly special in ONERUN. Together, we accomplished what we imagined - to reach out to families affected by cancer to offer them a little hope and know they are not alone.”

ONERUN encourages supporters to continue to donate to the local charities of Wellspring London and Childcan , who directly assist families affected by cancer in our community through both programming and financial assistance.

Congratulations North Middlesex District High School ‼️ The Marauders were our 2022 Top Fundraising school with an average of $22 per student.

Thank you Marauders and Oxford Dodge for your support and for helping to change the lives of so many who have been affected by cancer.

We would like to thank all 1,400+ participants from nine high schools, community members, and all of their donors for another successful year.

This brings our overall total to $1,769,097 since 2010 with all funds going to cancer programs at Childcan and Wellspring London.

Claim your 100km Journey fundraising prizes TOMORROW at New Balance London from 4:30pm-6:30pm. If you cannot make this time, please send someone on your behalf to pick-up your prize(s) for you.

Please note, if you did not raise over $30 and if during registration process you selected not to receive fundraising prizes you are not eligible.

Last night we made a visit to Wellspring London to celebrate the contribution ONERUN has made over the past years, to date we have donated over $640,000. These fundraising efforts, thanks to our supporters, have allowed Wellspring to expand and renovate their facility, along with providing programming for those in need!

Wellspring has made a painting of our very own Theresa Carriere, that will be hung inside their facility, how cool?

Meet Melissa Selmes, one of our 2022 Runners of Hope. 💜 In 2013, Melissa was told she had one year to live due to her rare terminal form of ovarian cancer. Thanks to the help from Wellspring London and many more, she joins us this year healthier than ever.
