The European Commission is conducting a review of Regulation (EC) No 1007/2009, which bans the trade of seal products in the European Union (EU). The EU is asking for public feedback on whether this regulation is effective and relevant. This is a chance for your voice to be heard!

Big Blue (Ben Cornel) is smooth-flowing music written under blue skies and big water. He mixes together fingerstyle folk playing with soulful songwriting in this singer-songwriter solo project. Born and raised in Montreal, Ben has been an active musician for over a decade.

The GNWT is now accepting funding proposals for both the Small and Medium Arts Project Grants for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

The Small Arts Project Grant provides up to $5,000 to emerging to mid-career artists, craftspeople and small groups to cover costs for small-scale arts projects (e.g., traditional apparel, paintings, etc.) such as art supplies (e.g., beads, thread, furs, etc.) studio fees, illustration and design costs, and artistic development.

The Medium Arts Project Grant provides $5,000 to $10,000 to mid-career and established artists, craftspeople and arts and non-arts organizations to cover costs for medium-scale arts projects and events, such as the completion and exhibition of a collection of work (e.g., fashion, paintings, etc.), studio/venue fees, illustration and design costs, artistic development, and more.

🌈💫Northern Mosaic Network’s Performing Arts and Q***r Justice Camp is accepting applications for 2024!

Participants will work with Bruno Capinan and Sibbeston to create pieces that will be performed at Folk On The Rocks this year!

This is a FREE five-day camp for 2SLGBTQIPA+, questioning, and allied youth (16-30), to discuss and learn about social justice, create music and spoken word pieces, and perform them at Folk on the Rocks!

The Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery is now accepting applications for our Fall and Winter residency terms, with a focus on marginalized emerging artists with the support of TD Bank Group (TD). The Ceramic, Glass, and Enamel Arts TD Residency for Black, Indigenous, and Underrepresented Peoples and Communities will enable an emerging artist to undertake a fully funded 8-week residency at the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery in Waterloo, Ontario from roughly October to December of 2024 and another artist from February to April 2025. The resident will be equipped with a working studio space, an honorarium, materials, and mentorship as they complete a body of work. Artists-in-residence will also engage the local community through public programs at the Gallery and produce digital content to be shared across the country.

Artists are eligible to work in ceramics, fused glass, stained glass, or vitreous enamel. Artists must work in the studio 35 hours per week for a period of 8 weeks. One residency will be offered Fall 2024 (roughly October-December) and one residency in Winter 2025 (roughly February-April). Each selected resident will receive an honorarium of $6,500 for travel and living expenses and will have access to a budget of $500 for materials and specialized tools.

The Ceramic, Glass, and Enamel Arts TD Residency is generously supported by TD Bank Group through the TD Ready Commitment.

Whether you bead, sew moccasins, make exquisite jewelry, paint captivating paintings, or produce other handcrafted items, we want you to participate!

This event provides the opportunity for artists to connect with shoppers looking for unique handcrafted holiday items for friends, family, and even themselves.

Approved participating artists who live in the four Tłı̨chǫ communities will have their travel and accommodations arrangements made and paid for by the Tłı̨chǫ Government. Per diems for meals will also be provided.

In addition to marketing the event, the Tłı̨chǫ Government will offer participating artists a variety of marketing supports designed to help elevate and showcase the artists and their products.

Applications are now being accepted for the fall 2024 cohort of the Canadian Creative Accelerator (CCA). This year's program will focus on production companies with scripted live-action comedy television programs that have an attached Canadian broadcasting partner. The program will kick off in September 2024 with curated workshops, in person meetings, and 1:1 mentorship across 2 months. The program will include two in-person weeks in Los Angeles. The initiative aims to increase the scope and global reach of Canadian television. Geared towards the US market, the CCA is aimed at emerging and established companies who are ready for international growth. The goal of the initiative is to help Canadian producers accelerate their growth, connectivity and partnerships in Los Angeles and Hollywood. Applications will be open until June 23rd, 2024.
