Fully stocked for all your July bison meat!
JULY is Bison Month!🦬
Across North American, July is celebrated as bison month – a month where consumers in the United States and Canada enjoy the grilling season with bison. 🍔
More consumers than ever are making bison their first meat choice when they invite family, friends and neighbors over to share the experience of good times and great food during the summer season. Bison not only tastes great, but it also has a nutritional profile that fits with today’s consumers and their focus on a healthier, more natural diet.🍽
Because bison are sustainably produced, raised without growth stimulants, and handled according to a code of practice also resonates with consumers.🙂
Bison are good for you and good for the planet.🌎
Over centuries bison roamed the plains of North America and sculptured the landscape that we call home. From the brink of extinction in the late 1800s to today where almost 500,000 bison are again contributing to biodiversity, restoring watershed, enhancing soils, sequestering carbon, and doing their part to reduce the impact of climate change.🌿

One of the many benefits of bison!
Bison manure, urine, and hoof impact, along with other unique behaviors, play a vital role in building healthy soil that results in productive land, healthy water cycles & drought resiliency, and thriving ecosystems.
We will be looking into these cards! Great idea!

Another benefit to raising bison beyond the health benefits of the meat, improving the environment.
~TEACHABLE TUESDAY~
In the wild, bison eat grass, forbs (weeds), and browse (woody plants). They need about 24 pounds of dry matter each day when grazing in the wild.
By feeding mostly on grass species and selectively avoiding other plants, bison influence the local prairie biodiversity.
Regenerative agriculture practices increase soil biodiversity and organic matter, leading to more resilient soils that can better withstand climate change impacts like flooding and drought. Healthy soils lead to stronger yields and nutrient-rich crops, without the need for synthetic fertilizers and/or pesticides. Healthy soils further promote the growth and health of the animals that graze on those plants and grasses, while restoring important carbon-capturing grasslands in the process. This is regenerative agriculture in a nutshell and bison are nature’s perfect fit for this.
