Croteau Racing
We are a race team living the dream!
We are hear at the first annual autofest car show in Arthur
Thanks to all those who helped put on the car show today as part of the Arthur Fall Fair. Wish the weather was a bit nicer but got to meet a number of new people and hopefully got some new fans out of it. There is still a lot going on at the fair till 4 tomorrow so if you're in the area, go check out the festivities. We would like to give a special shout out to Chris O'Donnell from Carquest Arthur for their door prize donation that we graciously won. With not realizing that Velocity is still two weeks away, we will be off next week as well, but we do plan to have the car on display again on Friday at another car show in Arthur.
With deciding to take the week off from racing and the Arthur Fall fair happening we have decided to take the car over to the fair and put it on display at the car show today from 11 to 3. If you're in the area, come on by as we have some goodies to give away.
August 31 race recap. We returned to Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page for the third time in three weeks this time for there memorial and fan appreciation night. We fought what is believed to be a fuel flow issue all night. We missed first practice after the car died. We somewhat got it figured out for the second practice and managed to get the car out to see how it was handling. The car felt good just a little tight on entry. After a tire pressure change we went out for our first feature. We started P6. We settled into p7 behind the 45 of Kaitlyn Wallace, we could catch her but was unable to get around. The car kept getting tight when we would go for the pass causing us to loose ground so we ended up finishing in 7th. With us finishing last car on the lead lap that gave us pole for the second feature. Instead of making any adjustments we hoped the cooling weather and some driving line changes would help us find the speed we have been missing. Unfortunately this didn't happen and we ended up finishing 7th again. This is the last planed race for us at Flamboro as we will be at Sunset in two weeks for fall velocity and than to Peterborough Speedway Thanksgiving long weekend for there Autom Colors Classic. As always we like to thank our sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, V.I.P Production, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams for there support this season.
First feature we finished 7th with a 18.1 being our fastest lap hopefully we can find some speed in the second feature
Memorial night and corn roast at Flamboro tonight. The #98 Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, V.I.P Production, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams Ford Mustang will be there.
Here is the video of feature 2's first lap incident. You can see the full video recap here- https://youtu.be/wFLguRDB_N8?si=zoA6EHIjVLLyESfy. Were just going to be straight up here yesterday went well but to bad the officials had a hard time seeing it. We had made gains again on the car unfortunately still not able to break the 18sec mark. In the first feature we started p6. A yellow came out early and while avoiding the spinning 33 car we caught the wall. We pitted to get the car checked expecting we would be given time to do so but no the officials decided to go green 3 laps after the accident so we had to take the restart from the pits. We were able to drive all the way up to 6th place and with the help of another yellow had a chance for more but once again the 33 spun and insted of staying in the infield were he was when we passed, he came out onto the track and stopped causing a yellow ending the race. This caused us to finish in 6th. We were able to get with in the .3 mark of majority of leaders in the race but there were two cars faster than a 17.8. For the second feature we started outside pole and despite what occurred in the prior race the 33 started pole. He was marked in as the last car on the lead lap at the end according to the officials so that was why he got pole. We new going in he wouldn't give space and would over drive but was hopping we would survive, unfortunately after we got the jump and baning doors we were put into the wall even before turn one punchering our tire. Wish we could say cooler heads privaled but that would only be partly true. No yellow for the incident ment we went multiple laps down. When we got back out on track he came around to lap us so we throw a block but with the miss match tires we couldn't give him more of an issue. Not sure we're we finished the second feature but we weren't the only crew pi**ed with the 33 driving over everything in his way but the officials seemed to not care as he went unpunished and handed the second feature win. The driving from the 33 has been going on for multiple years and there's even a saying for it and now we can officially say we've been Gillmored (drive of the 33 last name). We have yet decided to return to Flamboro but do plan to email them our complaints. As always we like to thank our sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, V.I.P Production, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams for there support this season.
Well, the driver drove his but off to a 6th place finish after an earlier incident that he got a piece of the wall avoiding. On to the second feature should be starting up front let's see how it goes.
Can't wait to get back to the track. We've put last week behind us and are looking forward to tonight and getting the #98 Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, V.I.P Production, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams Ford Mustang back on the track to running up front. Goal is to get to below the 18sec mark or with in .3 of the faster guys. Win would be nice, but we need to take the steps to get there first.
Glad to say the rain held off and Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page was able to get meet the drivers night in. It wasn't the night we were hoping for as what we had hoped the changes would do didn't happen. We tried to get the car to do what we wanted to but we're unable to. We ended up 7th in both features going one lap down. Surprisingly we turned are fastest lap of each feature in the final 10 laps (feature 1 lap 16 and feature 2 lap 20) despite the driver being fatigue by that point from wrestling the car around the track. We have found a few things that need to work on, change the setup back and try to get our heads wrapped around how changes effect the car and driver needs to build there strength. As always we like to thank our sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, V.I.P Production, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams for there support. Last note it was great to see all the fans that braved the weather to come out to meet the drivers night.
Well not the night we were hoping for. Adjustments made in the week off made the car a hand full. Full recap hopefully tomorrow on our page. As always we like to thank our sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, V.I.P Production, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams for there support this season.
Official word from the speedway
Just quickly checked, and as it stands right now, it looks like Flamboro will be racing. Reminder it's meet the drivers night #2 so hopefully, the rain holds off and we can get the #98 Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, V.I.P Production, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams Ford Mustang out for this one. We will try to keep everyone up to date on the situation.
Given the track conditions after a bunch of issues in the other classes first features and after a self spin because of lack of grip we decided to end the second feature early after starting pole to save the car for another day. Full recap and explanation on our page here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/c1KximHJYvS6hifY/?mibextid=oFDknk. People will agree and disagree with our disition, but we did it in the best interest of our team, driver and sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, VIP Production, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams to ensure the car lived to fight another day.
This is going to be a long post but last night overall went well. The adjustments made in the shop made a huge change to the car's handling. In the only practice session we got the car felt fast and a bit on the loose side. We decided not to make any changes to the car leading into the first feature. We started mid pack in the first feature and hung with the top cars for majority of the race. After a few incidents we moved up to a high of 4th but ended up settling for 5th place but our best race to date with this new car. Prior to the second feature the Hobby cars and Ontario Modifides had alot of issues in there first features causing the track to end there races early and leaving the track a mess. The track did the best they could to clean up the track but with the heat, humidity and oil from the other classes the track was left in really a no win situation. With no rain date due to it being a regular race night they had two options call the night with all first feature done so unfortunately no rain check, possibility of moving unfinished races to another day but no guarantee of car count being the same or race it out and let the drivers decide if they were confertable enough to race. The track decide to finish the night of races out. We started pole after the original pole sitter decide to drop to the rear, had a good battle for the front positions but with the track condition we ended up spinning while battling for second place. After our spin we decided to call it a night as the car and driver safety ment more to us than the race itself especially with not being in the points. Some will agree some will disagree with the disition we made but they aren't the ones that pay the bills and hopefully our sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, VIP production, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams understand we made the disition we did to save the car for another day. Ultimately the night was a success we wish the track was in better shape so we would of been able to try to compete for the win in the second feature but ultimately track conditions were the same for everyone so were not complaining about it.
We are about 20min away from kids rides and 1hr30min away from racing so still lots of time to come on down and support the #98 Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing, vip and Sherwin Williams Ford Mustang
For those looking for something to do tomorrow night, come on out to Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page for some racing action at 6:30. If you show up between 5:30 and 6:30 you may get to ride in a car perhaps the Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams #98 Ford Mustang. Hope to see you there
A bit later than we try to post this but we were at Sauble Speedway this weekend for there 35 lap mini stock race. Throughout the day we fought a constant issue of tight through the center of the corner. Up to the second heat we were able to continuously find some more speed. In our first heat we started 4th got up to third on the start but had nothing for the top 2. In the 2nd heat we started 2nd got the lead early on but given the fact we weren't able to maintain the speed in the corners we dropped back to third place. In the feature we started 7th and maintained the position the entire race. Not sure what happened as the car felt good but looking at the lap times we lost speed while others found some. There was only one caution in the race creating a 4 lap shout out but ultimately we ended up finishing 7th. We are hopefully starting to figure out what we need set-up wise for this car as we showed some speed but not sure how to find the little bit more we need. Between set-up, something like 300lap old tires and driving style there are a few variables that could be costing us time. This weekend we will be at Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page for kids ride night. Going back to a track we know fairly well will hopefully alow us to continue to make strides like we have the last few weeks. We would like to thank our sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams for there support this season as without them this wouldn't be possible.
Brought her home in 7th place. Had some speed but cornering cost us well on to the next one
The Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams #98 Ford Mustang is unloaded and ready to go here at Sauble Speedway
Hopefully we have got the setup figured back out after last week as we head on upto Sauble Speedway to chase the surf board. If you are in the area head on over to the track and cheer on the Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams #98 Ford Mustang mini stock.
Well, coming back from our incident on June 15, we completely missed the setup. In practice, we were able to make gains, but not enough we went from 18.8's to 18.4's. After another change, we found more speed getting our times down to 18.2's and ended up going from 11th to 6th in the first feature. We made another change before the second feature but feel that even though we found a bit more speed, we went the wrong way. We started 2nd got out to the lead early, but the car was too loose early in the race to hang on. We ended up finishing in 7th place, but because of the decrease in temperature, we did run our fastest times at 18.1's. As always, we would like to thank our sponsors, Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams for there support this season. We have a good idea of where we want to start setup wise at Sauble next weekend as we go after a surf board.
Still lots of time to come cheer on the Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams #98 ford mustang down at Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page and catch some good raceing.
Cars ready to go. Hopefully will be a fun night of racing
Race day is here!!!!!

If you can’t make it, be sure to tune in to TrackTune presented by and
Congratulations to Gillian hils on winning this car and to the second place winner Rick Whitcomb. Thanks to everyone that purchased spots in the draw and Michael Kenny for getting everything setup.
The team is finally down to one car so we can put all our focus on getting it hopefully up front. We are planning on heading to Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page this Saturday with our mini stock. Hopefully we get a few nice days in to dry things up out there especially for the areas that are dealing with flooding all this rain has caused.
We have decided not to go racing this weekend. We came to the decision given the weather forcast, us not racing for points and the driver is currently under the weather. We don't feel it's worth the about 1.25hr drive to Flamboro from the shop especially when two othe tracks have already called it. Hopefully for those that go they can get in the meet the drivers night and all it glory. Thanks to our sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams for there support, we will probably make the race up at a later date.

We would like to wish all the fathers out there a happy father's day. Now for the race day recap. Practice went well, were fought a tight through the middle that caused us to be loose off but we're showing top 5 speed. In feature one, we started 7th or 9th not 100% sure with some guys dropping to the back before the race. We stayed in spot till nutrition started to take cars out allowing us to move up. We were able to show some speed late but had a bad push that didn't allow us to fight for a podium but pleased with the 4th place finish. Feature 2 lasted all of one corner for us unfortunately. We started out side pole got the jump on the start had the lead going into corner 1 but the pole sitter decided who needs to brake entering the corner. The wreck didn't happen till the back stretch but started in turn 1. We feel bad for Mike Thompson the points leader going in that got caught up and hard a few hard hits. Glad he was ok after words. We disagree with the race director's call but after a conversation following the race I think he realized the call was wrong. Thanks again to Mike and Matt for helping out. As always we like to thank our sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams for there support this season.
Well, feature 2 sucked 3 weeks of work, and now thanks to a guy driving over his head, we have more work to do. Recap tomorrow after we have we have time to calm down. Thanks to Mike Kenny and Matt Smith for helping out today. Thanks to our sponsors Kenny Painting, DJD Graphics, Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln, Ulti energy, vision 20, Melitron Manufacturing and Sherwin Williams for there support we will see if we're back out next week for meet the drivers at Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page.
