The C13/C16 2024 8-Ball & 9-Ball Regionals were held from May 23-26 at the Walkerton Community Centre. Approximately 650 players from 42 9-Ball and 96 8-Ball teams competed for 6 trips to the World Pool Championships in Las Vegas. It was an all-Sudbury 9-Ball final on Friday, with “Here 4 Beer” defeating “Money Shots” on the A Board and “9 Lives & Counting” winning over “Don’t Mess With Slim” on the B Board. The 8-Ball finals on Sunday had “Fat Pat’s Chicken Shack” from Walkerton beating “Nowhere But Up” from Sudbury on the A Board. On the B Board, “Maximum Handicap” from Midland defeated “3rd Time Is A Charm” from Sudbury. Listowel’s “Rack Runners” won the C Board final over “Lots Of Bottom 2.0” from Sudbury. D Board was an all-Midland final with “Cleaveley Cripplers” defeating “The Trapazoides”. Thanks to Becky, Lisa, and Alyson for keeping everyone “hydrated”, Maggie and crew from the 519 food booth and Kathy, Andy, Martin & Jamie for making sure that no-one ran afoul of the rules! 2024 8-Ball Regional Teams & Friday May 24th 1st round start times. There are 96 teams playing for 4 trips to Vegas to participate in the 8-Ball World Team Championships in August. The teams are split into 4 modified single elimination boards with all boards having 24 teams. Green fees are $160/team. You can use your team credit towards the green fees.
Teams starting at 2:00 pm - Registration is at 1:00 pm & Captain's Meeting is at 1:30 pm.
Teams starting at 4:15 pm - Registration is at 3:15 pm & Captain's Meeting is at 3:45 pm.
Teams starting at 6:30 pm - Registration is at 5:30 pm & Captain's Meeting is at 6:00 pm.
Teams starting at 8:45 pm - Registration is at 7:45 pm & Captain's Meeting is at 8:15 pm.

There are 42 teams playing for 2 trips to Vegas to participate in the 9-Ball World Team Championships in August. Thanks to everyone for making this year's Ronald McDonald House Charity Tournament a success!

The 2024 APA Poolplayers Championships begins today at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. We have three players participating in the 8-Ball Singles Classic, Teri Cobean in the Blue Tier, Susan Brouwer in Yellow Tier and Bill Chambers in the Red Tier. Teri and Susan start play today at 1pm (Vegas time) and Bill's 1st match is at 5pm. The 9-Ball Double Championships also begins today with Smoke N Mirrors (Gerry Hunt & Pierre Lalonde) starting play at 1pm. The 8-Ball Doubles Championship begins on Saturday May 4th. Lion Hearted (Scott Lalonde & Shawn Gignac) and Bobber & Weave (Jason Wight & Corey Weaver) play their 1st round matches at 11 am Saturday. Congratulations to Sudbury’s very own 2023 APA Ladies World Champions Breaking Bad. Captain Muriel Christopher, Carole Sauvé, Lianne Larose, Margo Duncan and Kaylie Bigras battled against the 256 other teams to go undefeated to take home the prestigeous title. Way to represent Sudbury, all of our CPA members and the entire C13/C16 areas. We are all very proud of you here in your home town. Way to go Sudbury!!!!!
