** Please note that creativity can get messy, so we recommend not wearing your finest clothes. Most acrylic paints, including our own, are water-based acrylics. If you accidentally get paint on your clothes, don't panic. Head to the nearest sink to lift it up with warm water and a cloth or sponge.

After many years of having our studio space, and it being filled with so much fun and joy, we have decided to take Paintlounge in a new direction.

While letting go of our physical space comes with much sadness, we are also excited for the 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼! ᴇᴍɪʟʏ’ꜱ ꜱᴜɴʀɪꜱᴇ”

A couple of weeks ago, Laura booked a session to come in and paint in our studio. As she was getting settled in, a song was playing in the background that she hadn’t heard for nearly a year.

She turned to her friend and said, “I used to sing this song to Emily, so it must mean she’s here with us!” She started singing along to the song.

As she was deciding on which image to paint, she came across a sunset, and she stood right there saying “this is it… this is perfect, these are the exact colours of the sky on the day of Emily’s funeral.”

She went on to share how she had lost her daughter last year and was sharing some stories about her. Laura truly believes in synchronicities and that coming into our studio was a way for her to connect to herself and to Emily.

Thank you Laura for sharing your story and for keeping Emily’s memory alive!

It’s amazing how the act of applying paint on a canvas with a brush can quiet your mind and really allow you to concentrate on just one thing. A moment where time is lost while you focus on each brush stroke…
