Wildfires – Get Prepared 11/07/2023

With this summer’s unprecedented wildfire season, it’s especially important to be prepared—including learning how to shut off your natural gas supply at the meter, which PNG or the authorities may ask you to do if there is an evacuation.

To turn off gas supply at the meter, use a wrench to turn the gas valve 90 degrees. You’ll know that the gas valve is in the off position when the valve is crosswise to the pipe.
