AFOA Canada is the centre for excellence, information and certification in Aboriginal management. AFOA Atlantic Chapter was established in 2006.
The AFOA has Chapters operating in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Manitoba, NWT, Atlantic and Quebec. Each Chapter is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of senior financial managers within that province/region. The TD Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. https://afoa.ca/td/
Open to Indigenous students who are or will be attending a full-time, minimum two-year post-secondary program. Each year (for maximum of four years), 25 recipients will receive:
- $10,000 in tuition
- $5,000 in living expenses
- Summer employment with TD

We are honoured to announce we are offering a $1,000 Terry Lynn Marshall memorial scholarship for Indigenous YOUTH studying Business, Finance, or Accounting. The recipient will also receive an invitation to the AFOA Atlantic Annual Fall Conference in November 2024 and a one-year student membership.
Eligibility:
- Registered band member from Atlantic Canada or Gaspé, Quebec
- Under 30 by December 31, 2024
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated in relevant fields

Another full day at the AFOA Atlantic conference which wrapped up today! Thank you for all of our attendees for joining us the last two days (three if you count the pre-conference workshop day Tuesday), and thank you to all of our presenters and sponsors.
Today we had a cake celebrating our 15th anniversary which was in 2021 (but thanks to Covid, only getting to celebrate now).
Our next conference will likely be in November 2022! Do you want to see it in Halifax? If you have any other suggestions for venues in the Atlantic, let’s hear them!
AFOA Atlantic would like to extend a huge CONGRATULATIONS to the graduates of our Atlantic CAPA Cohort! A total of sixteen people graduated from this two year program - CAPA stands for Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator.
Not everyone was available to join us in person to receive their special gifts from AFOA Atlantic, which were beautifully beaded eagle feathers beaded by Rose Michael and also smudge kit boxes put together and wood burned by Richard Gloade at Lone Wolf Crafts.
