It’s interesting to see how the variety of Olympic sports has changed with the times. Years ago croquet, cannon shooting and tug of war were actual Olympic competitions. Today we can see break dancing and skateboard competitions in Paris.

Congratulations to Pike Lakes Rylan Wiens and his partner Nathan Zsomber-Murray picking up the bronze medal this morning in the men’s synchronized 10 meter platform at the Paris Olympics

More Provincial Park fire restrictions beginning tomorrow.

There are currently fire restrictions for the following provincial parks.

• Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park
• Pike Lake Provincial Park
• Blackstrap Provincial Park

Effective noon on Thursday, August 1, 2024, fire restrictions for the following provincial parks will also be put in place.

• Porcupine Hills Provincial Park
• Fort Carlton Historic Park

All open fires are prohibited when restrictions are in place.
