Happy hump day!

I'm working as a painting subcontractor on this basement renovation. This is 1 room of 5 to be done this week. The first coat is going on 3 of the rooms today.

A feature wall can add a dramatic change to any room. Here I added Benjamin Moore's paint colour 'Covington Blue'.

The only natural light comes from a window in the door, so we wanted a bold but not dark colour.

Adding a mirror by the door reflects light into the room to also brighten up the space.

Now that we are getting temperatures above 10°C we can start staining & painting outdoor projects.

On this jobsite I've been hired as a subcontractor to do all the staining of this Douglas Fir wood for a deck project.

I love the look of stained wood!

I'm working on painting all the ceilings in a cottage that was built in the 1960's. It's a big task and the bedroom ceilings in particular are soaking up the paint.

For jobs like this I go to my old faithful, STIX (a fantastic primer) to help me get the job done.

I took a year off to focus on updating my new home but excited to get back out in my new community working again.

This small guest room needed a colour that would help make it appear larger and lighter. I chose to use the Benjamin Moore colour Snowdrop.

The lower walls and trim had only been primed, so they got a coat of semi-gloss door & trim paint too. The pictures don't do this room justice, a fresh new look.

Painting this bedroom today and I have a super cute assistant who seems more interested in playing than working.

Painting is just the first step, later a feature wall will be added as well.

I haven't painted in a few months, it's good to break out the paint brushes again!

With Covid ramping up again this winter interior work has slowed down for me. So in my down time I've been making custom tables.

When I find a piece of wood I love I buy it... then it gets cut to size, sanded, stained, clear coated and legs added.

I love old pieces of wood and like to incorporate a rustic feel into my own home. This piece was from an old cedar fence panel that I salvaged from a jobsite. It sat in my garage for years until I found it a new home in my kitchen.

I cleaned & primed the walls then added a lighter paint to make a smaller room look bigger. The doors and trim were all painted as well to give it a fresh finished look.

A rainy day means I started an indoor project today. I'm a subcontractor to do the painting of these 2 rooms. The general contractor is touching up the damaged walls, laying new flooring and fixing areas of trim. Check in next week for the after pictures

I had the pleasure of being a subcontractor for this bedroom makeover. Carpet ripped up, underpad scraped off and water damaged walls repaired. New floor laid and ceiling, walls and trim painted.

What a fantastic fresh new look!

After the subway tile backsplash was installed I painted the kitchen walls, the cabinets and the counter top, then added new hardware.

A fantastic inexpensive transformation as compared to ordering and installing all new cabinets and counter top.
