Doesnt look bad before but this incline was a bit steep for some to walk down. Should be a lot better now. Compacted and good to go.

Do you need a bit extra parking anywhere in the yard?? This was just for atv and trailers. This was a get done quick and make extra room. Don't spend extra time on it. Should help for storage. Give me a call and can stop by . Get some ideas maybe and get a price.

When trees are in the way, going to die or fall over and cause damage.
We can knock them down and remove. Customer is thrilled he can see the water from the living room!

Also if you have Beech trees over a building, hydro lines or anywhere they could do damage. We recommended to remove sooner than later. Beech bark disease is killing many beech trees in our area. Give us a quick call if curious on trees or just creating some more open space.

Good morning,
One cool thing about using Tughill Services Inc is after we are done. I try and get drone pics of your place and a 360 degree of the area from way up. If the family is there and have time. Will try and get a couple pictures of everyone at the cottage or house as well. Will say, not a pro at it by any means but learning!! May even be a few pics from out east here!!

When mother nature gets a little strong with the wind. Oddly these trees broke off about 20ft up. All cleaned up.

So much easier to use excavator to move brush and logs!!

Installed new drywall on ceiling on this unit. Including vapour barrier and an attic hatch. Will be well insulated with r60 blown in insulation. Other contractor gave it some new paint. Flooring and kitchen crew were in next. All freshened up and ready.
For the record, proper ppe is used when blowing in insulation!!

Last little bit has been painting and drywall work. This was the first rental unit. Paint was all flaking all over. Most had to be scraped off. Lot of time there. Then do a pile of drywall repairs including finishing drywall ceiling upstairs that was previously installed. Painting everything. We decided the quick way of finishing inside corners upstairs was just 1x2 trim. Now is freshened up and good to go again.
I can't take credit for new flooring on main level or baseboard. That was the flooring contractor.

The customer wanted just grass in front of the cottage and was putting a shed on the right of the driveway.
So the old driveway, old limestone rock with grass patches was dug out to put in a solid base with fresh looking gravel driveway. Then packed solid. Some good quality topsoil brought in for in front of the house that gets the grass growing quickly.

Does your smoke detector look yellow??
Good chance it's expired. Only good for 10 years. Don't forget to check the batteries every 6 months as well.

Carbon monoxide are only good for 5-7 years. Usually when they go. They just go and won't stop but make sure you don't have a carbon monoxide leak. Also do you have enough of each detector??
So set an alarm on phone to check them soon.
Have a good day!

A little fun demolishing a shed. Cleaned up the area. Ready for a future bunkee. Pretty sure the critters and bees there, were angry after the house got leveld!!

A little repair job at the local gun range repairing the back stop. Old age will make things sag. This one was tricky as hydraulic jacks were needed and some interesting ways of making it safe to put the new beams in. With that said. Good to keep in shooting. Those mats are very heavy. Excavator would have helped!!
Always enjoy working there.

Quick couple days with lots of exercise up and down scaffolding.

This job was boarded when I got there. Just had to mud it, bit of primer and then 2 coats of paint. Turned out very well.

The Mirka vacuum/sander is my best friend when drywalling!! There is very little dust from sanding when used. Can sand in a house and almost guarantee no dust left to rest of occupied house. People are always amazed how clean drywalling can be when I do it!!

Little extra time making sure it looked good when the sun hits it. The glare will show any imperfections.

If you need some drywall or painting done this winter. Give me a call. 705 774-1873

Good day everyone,
Sad to say this but winter is here.
It's getting cold and heat bills are going up.
Have you checked your attic insulation??
Even if its a newer house, it may need a top up.
It is amazing the difference adding blown in insulation makes.
It also saves a lot of money.
If you would like an inspection of attic, give me a call and can take a look. Can add a clean new attic hatch if its needed as well. Old ones usually leak hot air out them. Just like giving money away. Almost worse than giving tax money away!!

It is a cheap way of saving money and often cheaper than you would think to get attic area to todays r value specs.
Its fast and clean. If its just a top up or small house. Can be set up, blown in and out of there in 3 hours.
Give me a call 705 774-1873
Have a great day

Tree roots!!
This is just a chunk of pipe we found from long before but it is a good reason not to have trees near a house or SEPTIC. As septic can now go upwards of $50 000 as 2 customers have spent within the last 2 years ive spoke with.
If a tree canopy (leaves and branches) goes over or even close to your septic. This can happen to the lines of the septic. Then needing to be possibly be replaced. This also goes for probably your biggest investment. House. If those branches go over your house. The roots are probably going down along the foundation and into the weepers. If they get into the weepers. That can ruin a foundation with water backing up etc and cracking the foundation, that is very very expensive. So keep trees and shrubs well away.

This is a property showing what not have. To the left of the house is the septic. Those trees got removed asap. So take a look at where your septic is or where you think it is. If there is trees near by. Give me a call at 705 774-1873. Or even if you are just curious on trees. I'm always available to stop by and give advice.

This job got wrapped up a while ago. Started out as a retaining wall, stairs to the basement and turned into more. From removing the apple tree for the retaining wall and building the wall, then on to some drainage issues. Installing weepers with lots of drainage rock and filter cloth, a French drain to a pipe catch basin, then building a retaining wall that stairs will be added to by the owner down to the basement, then adding the sono tubes for a future deck (also in a perfect straight line), to grading out the back yard, adding extra usable area at the back, knocking down trees to see the Georgian Bay, then up to the driveway. There was a massive rock that we figure was permanent Canadian shield. To our surprise and a relieve to saving hours drilling and cracking it. It was already cracked from previous blasting along the rd. Then finishing off the driveway with fresh material. Still work to be done down the rd next year. To working with great customers on this one. Added bonus, he can get his boat into the back yard for storage now.
Also the excavator was on top of a pile of salt pulling the massive Tarps over it. That is also a very large excavator!!

Work in progress over the weekend. Little wet but get it done.

A crummy wet fall day for working but the trail will be great for the customer skiing this winter. Asked to level out some spots and pull the rocks sticking up a bit. Funny thing, these were just 2-3 inches above ground. Gone now. I also built them a Snowmobile drag last year. These trails will be amazing for walking and skiing on now.

Don't mind us. Just knocking over trees. Almost across the swamp

Just doing a little volunteer work at the local ski club on a Sunday. Fixed the grade, raised grade, tossed in a culvert and widen up the one spot on the one trail. Now to punch a hole through the bush and make a wide trail. Hopefully by end of the week. The club will gain an extra section of trail for better sking. Plus biking and walking trails. More pics to come!
