ATLAS ARTS

On June 9th I travelled to Istanbul (Constantinople) where I was born. I’ll spend the summer here and planning to make short trips to Greece (Rhodes and Mitilini). I made this watercolour painting some days ago from a photo I took in Kadikoy pier overlooking the historical peninsula on saunderswaterford 140 lb 100% cotton paper in 10” x 7”. Matterhorn Mountain, Switzerland. Japanese shinhanga inspired watercolour painting. The source of inspiration to this painting was made by master Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950), a 20th century Japanese painter and printmaker. He is a leading master of shinhanga style.
