Conservative Member of Parliament for Calgary Confederation
Parliament unanimously passed my Private Members Bill that allowed for the annual tax form to be used to ask a simple question on organ and tissue donation.
Both Ontario and Nunavut opted to have this question included in their tax forms last year and 2.45 million signed up to register as a donor! We need all other provinces to participate in the future. If you live outside Ontario or Nunavut, call your provincial representative and ask them why your province is not participating.

Today, Remembrance Day, is a day to honour our brave soldiers, aircrew & sailors who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces. We must never forget the sacrifices they made, many with their lives, for our freedom.

Take a look at how my Conservative colleague from Quebec defends the truth about Alberta! Thanks Gérard Deltell for setting the record straight.
Every day, thousands of men and women put on their uniform and kiss their loved ones goodbye, knowing they may not make it home. Today we remember those who made that ultimate sacrifice at the Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ 46th Annual Memorial Service. We must never take their sacrifice for granted. A sincere thank you to every police and peace officer across our country.
At Nick’s Steakhouse & Pizza tonight thinking of a great Calgarian Nick Petros.
Wishing all of you a Happpy Canada Day.
A great meeting today with Beautycounter representatives from across Canada on the issue of overwhelming public demand for labelling transparency & disclosure on personal care products. They ask that Canada adopt stronger toxics laws for safer personal care products.
After 8 frustrating years of inflationary deficits that have increased the cost of everything, Liberals voted this weekend against even developing a plan to return to a balanced budget. As a fiscal Conservative, I am disgusted. Canada’s Conservatives have a common-sense plan to put our finances in order. Recently I presented a petition in Parliament on a very serious issue facing Seniors. I encourage you to read the Globe & Mail article and see what could happen when Seniors are in care facilities.
Petition calls for measures to protect long-term care residents from abuse Advocates want to see the federal government’s ‘safe long-term care’ bill include protections for seniors from people with histories of sexual assault
Sadly, Budget 2023 continues Justin Trudeau’s Liberal record of higher taxes & inflationary deficits. Conservatives demanded that Budget 2023 lower taxes for workers, end inflationary deficits that are driving up the cost of goods and remove gatekeepers to increase the building of homes for Canadians.
None of these demands have been met, and Conservatives will not support this anti-worker, tax-hiking, inflationary budget.
Thank you to JP & Luke with the Calgary Firefighters Association for raising several issues today in Ottawa that affect Canada’s professional fire fighters, including the need to eliminate harmful chemicals from protective gear. 🚒🧯
The Oath of Citizenship has been a legal requirement of becoming a citizen since 1947 and I think it should continue. It is a special, important, and meaningful moment for anyone becoming a Canadian citizen. As witness to many citizenship ceremonies, I know first-hand that this is a very emotional milestone for those who choose to make Canada their home. The Liberal government wants to make changes so that this significant moment is as trivial as a mouse-click done over the internet. Do you think the Oath should always be done in person? Let your opinion count and participate in the public consultations at

Sometimes we meet people who change our world view. We must never give up on those who need our help.
Today is International Women's Day. A global day to recognize & celebrate women’s & girls’ social, economic, cultural, & political achievements. It is also a time to celebrate the women in our lives and to raise awareness of the progress made towards achieving gender equality & the work remaining to be done.
I was donating blood at the Brentview Baptist Church in Calgary on the weekend. The Canadian Blood Services Mobile Unit was on hand collecting much needed blood products. This Christmas please give the greatest gift of all, the Gift of Life.

As you likely know, the United States Supreme Court made a decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision regarding abortion. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a lot of misinformation on the internet about where I stand on this issue. I am happy to clarify my position in light of these false statements.
Since being elected, I have maintained my promise to my constituents not to re-open the abortion debate in Canada. This is also the official policy of the Conservative Party of Canada, even if there are some individual members who would like to see changes. This has been Conservative policy for more than 15 years and will remain the same going forward. Canadians do not want to reopen this debate.
I have always strongly believed that women should be presented with every option available to them throughout their pregnancies. I believe that this information should come from regulated medical facilities and licensed healthcare professionals, in addition to (but not instead of) any counselling, religious or otherwise, that an individual sees fit to seek. Ultimately, it’s a woman’s right to choose.
At the same time, we must also protect the rights of medical personnel who choose to decline to directly provide abortions. In this regard, I am pleased to let you know that I am an official Seconder of Bill C-230 (An Act to amend the Criminal Code (intimidation of health care professionals) as I believe this is a critical balance in supporting abortion access. Quite frankly, I do not know why a patient would want someone who was uncomfortable performing a procedure doing the surgery on them to begin with.
Ultimately, the decision to seek an abortion is a deeply personal choice and each case is unique. I am confident none of these decisions are made lightly or easily.

Enjoyed a great afternoon at the Dreams Take Flight car raffle fundraiser South of Black Diamond, Alberta in “God’s Country”. The $50k raised will help fly 150 deserving children with special needs from Southern Alberta to Disneyland for a day.

78 yrs ago, 6 June 1944, 14,000 Canadian troops stormed the beaches of Normandy as part of an operation codenamed “Operation Overlord”. The massive assault turned the tides for the Allies in Western Europe and helped win the Second World War.
Today we remember the heros who fought and died in the name of freedom 🇨🇦

So proud of my daughter Lauren and all the brave, hardworking people at the UN World Food Programme, providing life saving food to the people of Ukraine 🇺🇦. LoveUkraine
People always say Question Period is too partisan and adversarial. Well, I could not have asked a more non-partisan, factual, non-personal and respectful question, but look at the nonsense answer the government gives.
