Winter of 2020, and I holed up in studio (thx Charlie!) to write and work out a bunch of song bits I had lying around in my voice memos.   The city was empty, under a heavy snowfall and the only places allowed to operate were the essentials… Walmart lines…  

Adam Balsam came in and slayed the drum kit over these ideas and friends came by to flesh ‘em out.    Thanks to everyone who threw their vibe at it!    

Jordan Koop rocked the mix and zipped it all up,

Then Adam died.     

And, life moved on.  

It’s been 2 years today since he passed and I’m putting it up to honour him.    

He’d been texting me about it and wanted to play a show.  Just looking at the text thread for the first time since.   

“Anything is Possible, Heart and Soul, and Sidelines are my soundtrack to summer 2021!! Holy f**k… so good.”   

He was always so positive.  And one of the few champions I felt like I had at the time.    and, yet I started overthinking it.  

Anyhow, I’m putting it up on Helios right now.   Sorry it took so long Adam ~ You were a legend and we miss you!

When I was 24 I had a free flight anywhere in North America. I chose Chicago because I loved all the music coming out of there. Most of what I loved came out on and I devoured The Sea and Cake and Tortoise . A huge part of it was the sound and vision of John McEntire and his legendary studio Soma Studios .

The music made me want to start bands where lifelong friends came from and it's no surprise it continues to do so. * I’m currently on the road in Omaha, Nebraska w/ who recorded their epic Forgiveness Rock Record with him.

LOST (link in bio) is the first single from a record recorded mid-pandemic. We picked 10 days and wrote and recorded a song a day to tape within 5 hours. Then we shipped these quick jams to John to rock drums and mix.

The track was inspired by a White Whale that Joseph Wesley Thomas Peters carved for me in ’07. Joe was a sweetheart and is dearly missed.

Extra special thanks to for allowing us to use his amazing piece This Is My Vessel for the cover. I’ve often thought about this image over the years after seeing it hanging on a wall and it felt like serendipity to run into him the day we were putting the finishing touches on the album.

The Ukraine 🇺🇦 people are fighting for their lives and I can't help but think the west should be doing more than sanctions.

They voted for democracy and independence and are being invaded because of it.

I don't know what the answer is, but, I can't help but think more territories from the USSR and more deaths are inevitable if we don't send help. 🇨🇦

Born on the 22nd day of June, 22 has always been my favourite number… So, 2022, I’ve got a good feeling about you!

I managed to complete 3 records this past year, but, the general malaise and fear kept ‘em locked away… Hence, one of my resolutions : to get out of my own way this year and release ‘em.

The year ended in El Zonte, El Salvador, a beatiful surf town which has been newly dubbed Bitcoin Beach. I met some awesome people in the crypto space down there, which was timely considering we’ve been building a crypto music app, HELIOS. * It's coming soon and I’d be very grateful if you can sign up to experience the beta version when it’s ready *** link in Bio⚡️
