The huup̓atu Health Centre will be closed for an additional day on Monday, June 24 for Health Administration Professional Development. The huup̓atu Health Centre will reopen on Tuesday, June 25.

Residents can leave items for disposal on the roadside by their homes anytime before 10:00am on Wednesday, June 26 to have it picked up. Or residents can bring their items to the bins in front of the Old Band Hall at 406 Hit-tat-so Road.

Garth Cameron Contracting is currently working on a project in hitac̓u and would like to take on a hitac̓u community member as an apprentice for the current project and the next projects in hitac̓u. There will be enough projects to complete an apprenticeship.

The Department of Lands and Resources ask that hitac̓u residents please be mindful when returning fish offal to the ocean. We recommend dumping below the low tide line, as far out as possible, and on an outgoing tide. Offal left too close to shore takes time to break down and attracts wildlife into the community.

To print or auto fill an online application, visit the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Government website at ufn.ca. From the main page select 'Forms', 'Education Forms', and the corresponding form you require. If you are in need of assistance, please email [email protected] or [email protected].

Hard copies of the applications are available at Cixʷatin Centre Reception and at the Port Alberni Satellite Office located at 3203 3rd Ave. The Satellite office is open for citizens to pick up forms from 9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Please email the completed application to [email protected] before Tuesday, June 18th at 4:00pm.

The first sockeye of the season has arrived. A limited amount of whole, fresh sockeye will be available on a first come first serve basis. More fresh sockeye will be distributed in the coming weeks.

The following units are available:
6 - One Bedroom
4 - Two Bedrooms
1 - Four Bedrooms

You are eligible to apply if you are Indigenous and/or a Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ citizen in severe need of housing. This includes those living in shelters, homeless or at risk of homelessness, and households paying 50% or more of their income towards rent.

To apply fill out the application by going to our website then navigate to Forms and click on Asset and Housing Forms. Email the completed application to [email protected] before Friday, June 14th.

Those who have already applied for housing in the past year can email [email protected] to confirm your placement on the list of applicants.
