REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Summer Camp Dates are as follows:

Camp 1 : July 8th - July 19th (FULL )
Camp 2: July 22nd- August 2nd ( FULL)
Camp 3 : August 6th - August 16th ( No Camp, Monday Aug. 5th - Gander Day) ( FULL)

$150 per 2 week camp

Camps will take place at Evangel Pentecostal Church and will be offered to children who have completed Grades K-6. Students will have a choice to participate in piano, voice or guitar.

Camps will run Monday- Friday 9am-4pm.

Please complete the registration form below. All camps are first come, first serve. You will be contacted after registration to arrange payment or be advised if you are placed on a waitlist.

Kiwanis Music Camp Counsellors Required

The Kiwanis Club of Gander is seeking applications for the positions of Music Camp Counsellors for their Summer Music Camps. These positions are for six weeks. The Counsellor must have knowledge of and be able to teach music to children having completed Grades Kindergarten - six.
Please enclose a resume including at least two references with your application. Closing Date for applications is May 17th. Applications may be e-mailed to: [email protected]

Do you volunteer? Help others? Do you work with volunteers? Do you have friends and family who volunteer? This is an invitation for everyone who wishes to celebrate!

I've been involved with this annual event for 20 years in my role with the Community Sector Council NL. I sincerely hope you choose to join us for a free reception to celebrate National Volunteer Week on Sunday April 21st.

There will be finger foods, refreshments, cake, entertainment, prizes, speakers and an opportunity to socialize. Bring a friend!

SCHEDULING UPDATE

All morning sessions of the Kiwanis Music Festival : Classes 10509, 10431, 10028, 11026 have been cancelled for this morning.

Afternoon Concert Band Junior : Class 10432A has also been cancelled.

All Afternoon Vocal Classes ( Class 10114, 10093, 10159, 10161, 10261) have been cancelled.

We will make every effort to reschedule these classes!!

ALL Piano Sessions this afternoon WILL go ahead.

Weekly Passes are also available at the Evangel Pentecostal Church Office for $20. These passes allow admission to all festival programming excluding the Choral Rosebowl Wednesday evening and the highlights shows on Thursday and Friday evening.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Stephen Candow as our choral adjudicator for our 2024 Kiwanis Music Festival.

Stephen Candow holds a MMus from the University of Toronto (2001), and the conjoint BMus/BMusEd (1998) from Memorial University. Further abroad he has studied choral conducting and organ in Dublin, Ireland, at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, England, and at the International Summer Academy in Göteborg, Sweden. In 2011, Stephen returned to Newfoundland from Ottawa, where he was the Director of Music and conductor for the prestigious choir of Gentlemen & Boys at St. Matthew’s Church and the Choral Instructor at Ashbury College.

Stephen’s other previous posts include: Guinness Organ Scholar at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, Ireland, Assistant Director of Music in Canada’s “Methodist Cathedral”, Metropolitan United, Toronto. A well-known choral accompanist, Stephen has been the accompanist for the Anglican Chorale of Ottawa, the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir, the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Choir(Shallaway), Toronto’s Voices, and Ottawa’s Seventeen Voyces. Stephen enjoys working with singers both as a conductor, vocal coach and accompanist, and has worked with various choirs in Ireland, England and Canada. As organist, he has performed in numerous prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall (USA) St. Paul’s Cathedral (England) Meistersinger Hall (Germany) St. Patrick’s Cathedral (Ireland) and St. Mary’s Cathedral (Scotland). He is currently the Conductor of the PCNSO and the Artistic Director of the St. John’s Choir.
