The Early Childhood Education (ECE) community is in deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Diane Kashin. Diane was an advocate and strong supporter of educators and children, having made an enormous impact to the early childhood community.

The Halton Resource Connection had the pleasure of hosting Diane numerous times, and each time was struck by her depth of knowledge and eagerness to share her enthusiasm with all those who had the privilege of hearing her speak.

Diane had an unmatched ability to connect with people, and everyone who knew her was deeply impacted by her unwavering determination and passion for her work.

Though her voice and expertise will be missed, her enthusiasm and legacy will serve as a source of inspiration for upcoming generations of Early Childhood Educators.

Our sincere condolences to Diane's family.

The thirteen moon of Creation is Blue Moon or Big Spirit Moon.

It's purpose is to purify us, and to heal all of Creation, a process which may take three month long spiritual journey.

During this time, we receive instructions on the healing power of the universe and transform into our own vision of the truth.

This day is about remembering those who have experienced gender-based violence and those who we have lost to it.

Achieving a Canada free from gender-based violence requires everyone living in this country to educate themselves and their families and community on gender-based violence, centre the voices of survivors in our actions, and speak up against harmful behaviour.

THRC is Thrilled to Welcome Back Lorrie Baird to Halton

Lorrie has been actively working in the early learning field for over 35 years and is currently the Executive Director of Pedagogy with Compass Early Learning and Care.

As a pedagogical leader and professional learning facilitator, she believes in engaging educators in reflective practice and ensuring that our work in adult learning parallels that which we want to foster with children.

Our work in early learning has one of the greatest impacts on the children, families, and the communities we support. As we move into the 21st century, the kind of care we bring to early education practices matters greatly.

In this full-day session, we will reflect together on the purpose of early education in today’s changing world and the role each of us can play in helping to create a more vibrant, connected world.

Together we will explore Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years, “How Does Learning Happen?” and consider how belonging, well-being, expression, and engagement can form the foundation for building a more caring, equitable, and just society.

13/09/2023

This practical, interactive session will provide information, resources, and tools that you need to develop a strategy for board succession that will share the work and reduce burnout.

Learn how to recruit, onboard, and retain Board and Committee volunteers using key volunteer engagement strategies.

Share your challenges, successes, and ideas with other community leaders.
