The ancient Egyptians were well known for their brilliance, and pioneering medicine, arts, astrology and mythology, and the Eye of Ra/Horus is no exception.

The Eye of Horus and the Eye of Ra are two of the most powerful and best-known symbols from ancient Egypt.
