Are you frustrated with your results right now?
Beating yourself up for choices you made in the past?
Are you allowing where you’re at right now to impact what you do tomorrow?
Stop giving yesterday the power to control tomorrow.

Tomorrow is not determined by yesterday’s choices.
Yesterday’s choices created today.

Tomorrow is determined by today’s choices.
Stop giving yesterday the power to control tomorrow.

If you don’t like something about your results today, change something about yesterday.
Today you are creating your tomorrow.

Sounds obvious yet how often do we beat ourselves up for past choices, then continuing choosing the exact same way.
How often do we give yesterday the power to control tomorrow?

You are NEVER powerless, you are ALWAYS in control.
Choose today what you want tomorrow.

Ever felt like your metabolism could use a little boost?
Here are 3 tips that can help rev it back up

1️⃣Breakfast is your BFF.
SKicking off your day with a protein-packed breakfast can set your metabolism up for success. Think a veggie-loaded omelet, non fat greek yogurt with whey protein powder or even a salad with chicken . Your body needs protein to get the gears turning after the night’s fast, plus, having breakfast can prevent those mid-morning sweet cravings 🍩💔

2️⃣ what if you could eat to fuel your energy throughout the day?
Frequent, smaller meals can help keep your metabolism humming. Instead of three meals a day, five or six smaller meals each with 15-20g of protein. This doesn’t mean you’ll double your calorie intake! This keeps your blood sugar levels stable and avoids those nasty late afternoon/evening cravings.

3️⃣don’t underestimate the power of hydration.
Drinking enough water is crucial for metabolic efficiency. Water aids in digestion and helps transport nutrients throughout your body. Aim for at least 8 glasses a day, but more if you’re active. A tip to make it fun: infuse your water with slices of lemon, cucumber, or even mint leaves for a refreshing twist. You’ll be amazed at how much better you feel when you’re well-hydrated! 💧✨

Focusing on these key areas can make a huge difference in how your body processes food and maintains energy. Start your day with a protein-packed breakfast, keep your energy steady with smaller, frequent meals, and keep the hydration game strong. Your metabolism will thank you, and you’ll feel more energized and ready to tackle whatever the day throws your way. 💪💥

Feel free to share your own tips or experiences in the comments. Let’s wake that metabolism up!🌿👊

Do you feel like you’re grinding right now?
Like you’ve started towards a goal, and you’re doing all the things but progress feels slow and you’ve lost the motivation from when you started?
I now call this the ‘connector sections’.

In a long trail race or a long hike, there are highlights and connector sections.

The highlights are our goals - the reasons we are out there trudging along, the views we are eager to take in.

The connector sections are the parts in between that can be boring, uninspiring, relentless ... but necessary to persevere through to get to the next highlight.

It can feel so tempting to give up in these sections - our minds can revolt on us - but quitting deprives us of the future highlights.

The key is always keep your eyes on that next highlight and to remember every connector section eventually ends, inevitably revealing the next spectacular view.
Connector sections can also hold their own beauty if we are careful enough to see through a different perspective.

If you are in a connector section, keep going.
Find it’s hidden beauty, and persevere until you get to that next highlight.

You can choose the fixed road of stability or the undulating road of variability.

Choosing the fixed road means trying to maintain a straight line kinda life experience - minimizing the lows, which means also minimizing the highs.
Predictability, consistency, flat line ..
Never losing but also never ‘winning’.
Avoiding hardship but also avoiding breakthroughs.

Choosing the variable road means there will be risk and adversity but also rewards and prosperity. The highs and lows will be equal and opposite in intensity.
There will be loss, but also gains.
There will be times of difficulties but also times of great freedom.

We all have different tolerance for the variable routes in life - and I used to be a strictly fixed road type of person. I’m learning though that choosing the safe road deprives me of great experiences and that my fears of what could go wrong are generally unfounded.

I’m also learning I’m far more capable than I once thought and betting on ME more often.

What decision lies in front of you right now - that offers you an opportunity to try the variable route? Will you go for it? What could you gain from taking that risk?

Bet on you.
You are more capable than you think.
Gift yourself the opportunity to figure it out.

⤴️ photos of me failing at something I may never get another shot at … but learning so much and gathering a bit more courage to go for things that aren’t guaranteed

Photos from Boundless Pursuits's post 24/06/2024

You know that clunky period when you start something new?
You’re not very good at it yet, you are going through the motions but feeling clumsy and awkward, maybe even a bit of imposter syndrome.

You look at how easy it seems to be for others who are further along than you, and think surely they never struggled like you.

It’s easy to talk yourself out of it and tell yourself maybe you’re not meant for this... and quit.

I felt like that recently.

I was listening to a podcast on training and it kinda hit me - the purpose of training is adaptation.
Often in training it feels clunky and hard, and I think jeez I’m not good at this, maybe this isn’t my thing.

But the whole point of putting in the training is to teach the body to adapt to a new and foreign stimulus - so you’re not SUPPOSED to be good at it. If you were - it wouldn’t be training, it would just be ‘being.’

So next time you’re feeling like you aren’t meant for something just because it’s new and foreign to you - remember, you’re adapting and that’s exactly how you’re supposed to feel.
Keep going - and before you know it, you will be one of those people that someone is looking at, wondering if you ever struggled like them.

The process is supposed to be clunky, awkward and clumsy until you adapt - then its time to raise the bar and repeat the process.

So stoked for this trip.
The only thing better than living it is planning it - my soul feels so happy creating the adventure.
My goal is to WOW the ladies that join me.

To provide a life changing, EPIC experience...
To take them to places they wouldn’t have otherwise gone...
To lift them up and show them what they are capable of...
To nourish them and show them how great they can feel...
To empower them to RAISE THE BAR and BE BOUNDLESS for years to come.

Just ONE SPOT LEFT in our EPIC retreat to Sedona in October... with a stop at this place you may have heard of called the Grand Canyon.
Do you need to ?

Photos from Boundless Pursuits's post 17/06/2024

We were told we’d need chin straps going through Sedona - because the scenery was so beautiful, our jaws would be constantly hitting the ground.

Some runners tried to time their races to hit Sedona during the day. I loved entering the outskirts of Sedona as the sun was setting - I had been watching those red rocks get closer over the first couple of days of the Cocodona 250, and the surrounding area was beautiful with the sun hitting the rocks all around me.

Unfortunately for me, my timing would have me I arriving in town well after the sun had gone down.
The streets were quiet, the stores were closed but it definitely had a different feel than any of the towns I’d been through up to this point. It felt more bougie, more manicured, more touristy maybe?

I was supposed to be collecting intel for my October women’s hiking retreat - or at least getting some good first hand pics.

What I got was a great view of the trail beneath my feet and the rocks illuminated by my headlamp.
I also had probably the best trail nap of all my trail naps - maybe even one of my favourite experiences of the entire race - on a giant, flat red rock under the most beautiful black starry sky.

By the time the dawn hours hit, I was climbing out of a canyon, leaving Sedona and watched the sun rise much like I’d watch it set - illuminating the red rocks in my ‘rear view mirror.’

So - I got a tiny little taste of Sedona - and can’t wait to go back to really experience it, with a group of like minded women who want to be boundless and raise their bars with me.

I have 2 spots left for my Oct 1-6 hiking retreat to Sedona, Arizona.
Will you join me?

“A whole lot of preparation went into this weekend ... which means I’m not taking a single second of it for granted.”
My friend Megan Stevens

These words HIT ME this morning.

How often do we work, grind, sacrifice, prepare, plan - for something...
and then forget to actually enjoy it.
maybe even forget why we wanted to do it in the first place.

We forget the hours, the money, the effort, we put in...
We forget to appreciate the highs, the lows, the growth...

Maybe it turns out to be a giant let down, failing to meet our expectations after the giant build up.
When we started we were excited but the time comes we are tired and it just doesn’t seem like a big deal anymore.

We forget that the value was in all the things we did to get there and in the experience regardless of the outcome.

It’s one week until I start the Cocodona 250.
This week I will reflect and appreciate all I’ve done to prepare.
Then I get 5 days out there, and I will not take a single second for granted - the highs, the lows, the adversity, the triumphs.
I will not take for granted the experience, both the good and the bad.

Every day is an experience, and every experience is valuable.
Don’t take a single second of it for granted.
xo

WHY is everyone talking about the importance of PROTEIN?...especially in midlife years...
Increasing my protein has been an absolute GAME changer for me and I now coach a program that hones in on just how to do that.

1. LEAN BODY COMPOSITION
As our bodies go through significant changes, maintaining muscle mass becomes a top priority.
Why?
Because muscles are like our body’s engine, burning calories and keeping our metabolism revving. Incorporating optimal amounts and TYPES of protein into your diet can help counteract the loss of muscle mass that often comes with menopause.

2. SLEEP
Did you know that protein might just be your knight in shining armor when it comes to catching those ZZZs?
The amino acids found in protein-rich foods play a crucial role in serotonin production, which is essential for a good night’s rest. So, if menopause has your sleep patterns playing hide and seek, boosting your protein intake could be a game-changer. 💤🌜

3. MOOD
The rollercoaster of emotions that menopause can bring...
Protein provides essential amino acids that help produce neurotransmitters responsible for mood regulation. Including optimal amounts and TYPES of protein in your daily diet can make a noticeable difference in how you feel emotionally.

When I hit my midlife years, I struggled with all three of these - and never even considered it could be because of the way I ate.
I learned how to tweak how I ate and my whole world changed.

If you are struggling with weight management, sleep or even mood, I can help you too!

3 weeks tomorrow, the Cocodona 250 begins.
Participants have 125 hours to complete 250 miles on foot from Black Canyon City to Flagstaff, Arizona.

Last year I was glued to the live feed watching the stories of the runners unfold. I found it so inspiring.

I want to invite YOU to join me in raising your bar during 'Cocodona Week.'

What can you do from May 6- 11 over and above what you normally do?
Can you go for an extra walk or 2 each day?
Can you run a mile each day?

Go big or go small, its up to you - but how can you raise your bar with me?

I'm creating a FB community so we can watch the live feed, follow the runners and cheer each other on as we raise our bars for 6 days.

If you'd like to join the group to follow along or participate in any way you can incorporate just a bit more movement, comment "cocodona" and I'll add you to the group.

Have you heard of RESVERATROL and how it can impact weight loss?

🍷First up, what in the world is Resveratrol?
Resveratrol is a compound found in red wine (yes, you read that right), grapes, berries, and even dark chocolate. It’s famous for its antioxidant properties, but recent whisperings suggest it might be sneaking into the weight loss spotlight too. 🍫🍇

No, I’m not taking up wine drinking again...nor am I suggesting you increase your intake...first the benefits:

1. **Metabolism Booster**: Studies hint that resveratrol can enhance our metabolic rate. Imagine your body’s metabolism turning into a super-efficient engine, burning fuel (aka calories) faster than ever.

2. **The Appetite Suppressant**: Ever felt like your appetite has its own monstrous life, especially in the afternoon or evening? Well, resveratrol might just be the hero we deserve, swooping in to tame that beast. Some talk suggests it helps regulate those pesky hunger hormones.

3. **Fat Storage**: Here’s where things get good - resveratrol possibly plays a role in hindering the process of new fat cells being formed. Isn’t that something we’ve all dreamt of?

Additional benefits are heart health, brain health and anti aging.

Resveratrol could be one of the pieces of the puzzle on your journey to wellness or as I like to call it WHOLENESS:

Want to reap the benefits with me?
How about try it for 🆓with your 5 Day drop or Uplift programs?

Comment VITAL for more on how I’m incorporating more RESVERATROL into my life.

You are good at something.
You are new at something.

Take the feelings of confidence, belief, and knowing you have in the thing that you're good at - and apply it to the thing you're new at - because you were once new at the thing you are now good at.

You have proven to yourself you can do it.
You have a history of becoming good at so many things you once had to learn.

List them.
Build your belief.
Belief is fuel for your goals.

02/04/2024

As I went through my early to mid 40s, I felt like doors were closing.
I felt like I didn't understand my body anymore.
I felt like things that had always worked no longer did.
I tried different things, but it felt like the changes that were happening were inevitable.

Looking back, I see now I had begun to work harder at accepting this 'new me' than seeking solutions.
I accepted the new limits of midlife years.

Yet I saw women around me, older than me, thriving.
It frustrated me - why can't that be me.
I wasn't ready to settle.
But it seemed my body had a different plan.

What a bunch of crap I was telling myself.
How powerful the mind is.
The MIND is in control, not the body.
The MIND sets the limits.

In fact now I believe something totally different - I believe we can be stronger, and more capable as we age.
I believe our best years are in our 50s even 60s.
...because our mind becomes stronger as we age.
We know so much more.
We have lived through so much more.
We have a wisdom that can only come with experience.
We have patience.
We are more humble.
We know how to slow down, we know how to listen.

^^^^^^
Sure, we have to work harder at the physical game.
We HAVE to take care of the body - feed it, nourish it, move it.
We can't be neglectful or abusive to it and get away with it like we could when we were younger.

But we are in complete control over every single choice we make.
We are also in control over the mind.

Learning the new rules to the new game - I now understand I have more tools to work with than I ever did before midlife changes.

You do too.

It starts with RAISING the bar - stop believing the best years are behind you, they are 100% in front of you.
Learn the new rules, you have control.
Go be boundless.

Sacrifice is not the same thing as deprivation.

Sacrifice is choosing what you want later instead of what you want now.
Deprivation is just going without.

Sacrifice means having a vision of a bigger goal.

Making better choices isn't about punishing yourself or going without - its about keeping your eyes on that bigger goal.
Making better choices becomes easier when you choose to raise the bar and aim higher.

Today is Monday and the beginning of a new month: raise your bar, set a bigger goal.
What do you want?
What will you work towards?
What is worth sacrificing for?

Be boundless, you have one life and you deserve to live it to the fullest.

It’s not just about identifying foods that are ‘bad’ and refraining from eating them.
It’s about identifying foods that make you well and choosing them.

Food works similarly to money -
You can improve your financial situation by either spending less or making more.
The more optimal choice in terms of emotions, and lifestyle is to make more.
You can only cut so much. You have to spend something.
Conversely, there is no cap on what you can make.
Everyone knows how to spend less.
How many know how to make more?

With food you can either eat less, or learn to eat well.
You can only omit so much - you have to eat something.
If you learn how to eat well, you can get results and eat a lot.
Everyone knows how to diet.
How many know how to eat well?

In both situations, cutting creates a world of limits and leads to feelings of lack, deprivation, and scarcity.
Alternatively you can learn how to live in abundance and freedom and remove limits.

I know which I’m choosing - which would you choose?
If you are ready to learn how to raise your bar, learn to eat WELL and start removing limits comment DROP.

These midlife years can feel a bit like a wild roller coaster ride you didn't want to take, right?

A couple years ago, I felt resigned that my new reality was to just get better at rolling with the punches and embracing the unpredictability of my body.

But I've learned that there are some key things I can do to settle the ride down to a rather enjoyable one actually... and now I can honestly say I feel better than I did before the wild ride began.

1. absolutely hands down, learning how to eat is the biggest game changer.
- protein, protein, protein

2. strength training
- less HIIT, cardio, stress inducing exercise and more lifting

I want to teach you what I've learned.
I want to inspire you do raise your bar and stop accepting less.
I want to empower you to take control over the things you DO have control over.

My midlife weight management program DROP is always open.
I have 3 spots remaining in my wed evening midlife strength training sessions.

Comment DROP or STRENGTH below for info.
YOU have so much more control than you think!

MIDLIFE LADIES: did you know its actually possible you to FEEL amazing AND release the menopause bloat?

ONE of key components is: YOU NEED CARBS.

Have you ever felt like during menopause, what worked for your body before suddenly feels like it doesn’t?
It’s not just you; it’s just a matter of learning some of the new rules to a new game.

First off, let’s talk blood sugar balance.
During menopause, fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone can make your body’s insulin response unpredictable. Managing carbs strategically can help keep the roller coaster under control. Choosing complex carbs like whole grains, vegetables, and legumes can be a game-changer.

Then, there’s the matter of energy levels.
Carbs are our body’s primary energy source, but quality over quantity matters. Swapping out those sugary snacks for healthier options can keep you feeling energized without the crash. Think of putting in premium gas instead of running on fumes.

Lastly, there is a link between carbs and mood swings. Yes, diving into a tub of ice cream might feel like the answer to menopausal moodiness, but it’s just a temporary fix. Balanced meals that start with quality protein then pairing the right portion of carbs for you can actually help stabilize those mood roller coasters.

You don’t need to, and SHOULD NOT omit carbs.
By understanding their role, you can choose carbs that help your body vs hindering your health.

I teach a program that helps you dial in your choices along with the timing and portion size that works best for you and your goals.
Comment DROP for information - it can literally change the game for you.
