It’s been a minute since I’ve posted!
This is my latest make and the story behind it.
Girl: Mom, I wish I had a duffle bag for gymnastics.
Me: I can make that…
Girl: The front needs a pocket with a zipper. A different color pocket.
Me: Ok… so I go to my stash, pick out a nice denim and some vinyl and cork to coordinate. Nice, easy sew.
G: Can it have a waterproof inside in case I put my boots in?
M: Ok, I have a whole roll of iron-on waterproof vinyl.
G: And can it be a different fabric for the outside… picks out this softshell from the stash.
Needless to say, this project was more intensive than initially planned.
It's been a busy summer y'all, but school started today and the chill is in the air, so it's time to kick the sewing machines into high gear.
Here's one of my favourite dresses - it was little miss's back to school request and I think I nailed it... even if I am biased.
No phockets here.
😂😂😂 PHOCKETS 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is it even holiday sewing if you don’t finish it at 1am the morning it’s required?
Christmas tradition intact! Finished the girl’s Christmas Eve pjs with hours to spare… well aside from the over shirt that she wants to go with it.
And #4 & 5! Tomorrow we get to put it all together!
Project #3… I’m starting to think I’ll make it.
Countdown to Halloween… project #2 / 5
Countdown to Halloween…. Project #1 of 5 done.
When you need a formal-ish dress and you're 6.5 yo, mom comes to the rescue. This one is in honour of family; which is a fantastic reason to use 14 feet of lovely scalloped lace.
Little miss HATES jeans, but she loves her new rock collecting pants. They combine custom ice-dyed denim with an custom baby wrap to make a truly unique pair of pants for a girl who won't quit growing. Keep your fingers crossed that these will fit for a whole year!
I don't know if pants get more custom than these. A combination of ice dyed white denim and pieces of a custom baby wrap from Erizo Wovens paired perfectly for this perfect pair of Meyraki Patterns Sewing and Quilting pants.

One of my favourite designers is Kristy over at @ and she knocked it out of the park with the . It's got two hem options and three neckbands (including a cool collar and comfy cowl!). I made mine with a brushed Hacci knit. It's so soft and warm.
If you want to get this pattern on sale (until Friday) and get a kickback for me :) , you can use my : https://buttonsandblueprints.com/product/serene-sweater/?wpam_id=46
I also made a couple of the pattern for the girl. This is a new release from and has the sweetest silhouette with multiple sleeve options. I did Angel and Bell. Both of these are in stretch velvet and the girl loves them (don't let her lack of enthusiasm in the photos fool you!)
You can pick up your copy on sale here: https://www.tiedyedivapatterns.com/product/diamond-dress-pattern-for-knit-puff-angel-bell-bishop-sleeve-overlay-option-1-to-10-years/?affiliates=191
Next up is the Eureka Designs top. This is such a fun top that still provides bra coverage. This one is made from lightweight Chitosante from Discovery Fabrics - Specialty and Technical Fabrics with stretch mesh and stretch lace accents.
I've been busy this month! I've participated in 5 pattern tests and sewn up strikes for a rerun round. Over the next few days, I'll post pics of what I've done and links to where you can find the patterns / fabric.
Let's start with . They've just released a new applique pattern and I learned a lot during the process. Check out the sleepy kitty and bear that I made. Note that I used spray adhesive for the kitty and Heat N Bond for the bear. I highly recommend using Heat N Bond.
You can get the appliques on sale until Feb 4th. Here's my - it gives me a little kickback, but doesn't cost you any extra.

Don't you just love this one of a kind pullover? It's a nice weight stretch cotton to keep your little warm, but not TOO warm. I used a panel to create it, so all of the colours coordinate perfectly. You can own it and help a super hero mom by joining the Charity Auctions Canada Facebook Group.
Teachers' Gifts Accomplished. Little's teacher and teaching assistants were so amazing this year with Covid. We were so fortunate to have such a caring group to introduce her to school, so the end of the year gift needed to be something special. A friend collected photos of all of the kids signatures, then I tie dyed the fabric in their favourite colours, used the projector to trace the kids signatures onto each of the panels with fabric marker, pressed the vinyl and then sewed it all up into these by . Useful and sentimental.
I first found as a result of this dress pattern. I purchased it a couple of years back, but haven't made it until now. Given that it's pride month, I used my yarn dyed rainbow stripes from and chitosante from . This is one of those times when the final result fits exactly with what I envisioned.
If you like the pattern, you can get it for 40% off until Wednesday. If you use my , it doesn't cost you a thing, but I get a little kickback: https://gooberpeadesigns.com/ref/26/?campaign=https://gooberpeadesigns.com/product/emilia/
When little wants something tie dyed for her birthday, you make ALL the tie dye. This is all made from an ice dyed white denim!
Some folks like dresses - this girl is one of those. Fortunately, with the Grow With Me Hooded Dress (converted to a dress and a cropped hoodie), I can make her a dress that will become a tunic as she grows. So she can wear this French Terry print for years to come. It pairs beautifully with this gold Stretch Faux Leather from .
What does this mama want for Mother's Day this year? Take a couple of guesses ;-)
This panel is currently available on preorder from my friends at The Fabric Hens and was the perfect pairing for the Romantic Stripes coordinate and this George & Ginger dress with pockets large enough for a bottle of wine!

Easter baskets for the little from the Faithwell Bin pattern. These things are huge!
This little guy took a lot longer to make and send to his new home than anticipated. Doesn’t the matching robe just finish it off!?! I think there will be one happy little boy when it all arrives.
