Did you know CPWD is a non-profit swim club that is run by a volunteer Board of Directors? We are not run, staffed, or funded by the town of Carleton Place, and for that reason we do not charge Mississippi Mills residents an extra fee to join our Swim Club.
Carleton Place Water Dragons will be at the Mississippi Mills Community Open House, with information on our programs from Junior Dragons (Intro to CPWD), to our competitive programs, to our Masters program (adults 18+).
Come say "hi" on Thursday March 28th from 2-4pm or 5-7pm!

On June 15th the Carleton Place Water Dragons will be holding their 2024 Swim-a-Thon. Our goal for this year is $12,000!
Carleton Place Water Dragons is a non-profit, small swim club that is run by a volunteer Board of Directors. The town of Carleton Place and the Carleton Place Pool DO NOT run, staff, or fund the club.
Our club has the highest pool rental fees in Ontario, and after Covid, and losing a bulk of swimmers, we are in our re-building phase.
If you are able to help out our club in any way, please click in the fast and easy link below to donate.

Swimmers practice Mondays and Wednesdays
Don't miss out!
Today was Super Saturday. Swimmers from Age Group White, Age Group Blue, Senior, and Senior Elite came to the pool for a three hour challenge practice. Swimmers swam between 6200 meters and 12400 meters to say goodbye to 2023 and welcome 2024. They swam with perseverance, confidence, good technique and, most importantly of all, teamwork. As the photos attest, they were very tired when they finished. Great job to all Super Saturday Survivors.
The next session of our Junior Dragons (pre-competitive swim group) starts January 8th. Don't miss out, spaces are filling up!
Swimmers will learn stroke proficiency and development (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and an introduction to butterfly), foundational competitive swim skills , team work, and fair play while having fun!
Email our Registrar, Ashlee, at [email protected] for more information or to book your swimmer's assessment over Christmas break.

Tonight’s second final swim was Fiona in the 400 IM. Fresh off her new best time of 5:21.72 done two weeks ago in Belleville, Fiona sent a strong message to her competitors by swimming a 5:10.26 in this morning’s preliminaries, grabbing the top seed for tonight’s final. Dominating the final from start to finish, Fiona grabbed her second Gold of the night by going 5:04.97. That time was well under the qualifying standard for the Ontario Swimming Championships. Well done Fiona! Watch her swim below.
