As part of restoring the historic poultry house here at the Wellington County Museum and Archives
museum (built in 1918) we were featured in some exhibits for visitors to learn more about poultry farming in Wellington County, past and present. Chicken Thika is also featured on the list of Wellington County Taste Real partners and Organic Council of Ontario. We are proud to continue to operate as a small independent family farm operating under the CFO’s Artisanal Chicken Program with certification from HMA for halal standards and CSI for Organic standards.

Raising chickens on pasture means they are exposed to the elements and also exposed to predators - we have been dealing with raccoon attacks - these are country raccoons - unlike the suburban raccoons that are satisfied with a little ketchup and fries from your green bin - they attack we block with an electric fence - they break through we put rocks, they continue we add pegs. The battle continues to get you pasture-raised chickens that survive nature….
