What's the best part of this bathroom reno? The custom sauna or the custom walk-in shower?! 🤩

This modern bathroom meets maximum comfort, even in a smaller space. We paired this monochrome bathroom with all of the warm wood accents and finished er off with a mix of black and gold hardware. Final result? An absolute dream, if we say so ourself! 🖤

Is this even the same space?! 🤔

We promise you, it is!! Our team has been working hard on our Campbell Valley project. It’s been completed gutted down to the studs and extended the house by more than 6 feet. 🙌🏻

Our client dreamed of a mix of modern and traditional space, with focus on a bright space that felt open to their beautful backyard and pool area. Through the remodel, we added in allll the windows and opened up the living space to feel like a natural continuation from the kitchen for maximum liveability.

Team MDS is still working on the final details, but we just couldn't help but share a few progress photos! We love seeing what a home can become💫

02. Our Founder & Principal Designer, Erika!

Powerhouse team lead & the most amazing mama to her two littles, Erika is the brains and heart to our team.

03. Meet Ayzia!

Ayzia is a senior designer at MDS who is an experienced Interior Designer and home stager.

Ayzia has an eye for detail. She loves to mix materials, textures and finishes to create a unique space for all her clients. Ayzia loves bringing a clients dream home to fruition and making sure all the individual needs are met.

Ayzia not only brings her wonderful self to the office, but she bring her fur baby Alfie to help with all the office paper shredding! 🐶

When she isn’t in the office you can find her in a hot destination, or spending time with her family and friends.

04. Meet Devon!

Our most newest addition to the team is Devon, but you’ll likely get to know her as “Dev” at MDS. Devon is a 3rd year interior design student from Langley, BC.

Devon found her passion for interior design when she was working as a cafe store manager. She worked with members of a design team to give feedback on how to improve the functionality of her store. Fascinated by how much the design of a space could improve the user experience, she applied for design school that fall.

What Devon loves most about interior design is being able to create not only aesthetically pleasing spaces - but ones that are functional and unique to each client to fit their individual needs.

In her spare time, Devon loves to spend time with her family and friends, all while tackling her own home reno project.

Beginning the process ——

After our initial consultation, we begin the process of curating imagery and creating preliminary mood boards + drawings. Creating each project unique to the next by hand selecting materials that coordinate with the technical attributes of your design. This creates a story for your home and flows with how you live in it.

Aside from the technical drawing process, material layers are one of our favourite parts of the design process. We work closely with the best suppliers to ensure top quality for each home.

Besides the obvious conveniences of having a pot filler, they are also a very pretty fixture to compliment your kitchen✨

For this kitchen, we designed it simply for the luxurious element it added to the space. Like jewelry, we love the elegance and the bonus of the convenience it adds!

My twenties have been the most transformative years of my life. This past year has brought some trying times in different aspects of my life, along with that, I have seen so many growing moments within myself and wins through these lessons.

Ready for another trip around the sun — here’s to 29, ready to crush some goals. 🥂

Progress Update —

Remember this model I showed you a few months ago? Well we have been working hard bringing it to a reality & we can’t love it more! 🤍

Still keeping a modern and luxury look, we warmed it up a bit and let the beautiful island be the highlight of the kitchen (just look at that marble🤩).

We still have some fun details to add, but are getting closer and closer to completion✨

Sun is (sort of) shining in Vancouver and I don't know about you, but it brings out a new kind of energy in me! ☀️

If you're ready for a little spring refresh without breaking the bank, get inspired and do a little home freshen up!

1. Rearrange your space - pick up a new item or two and rearrange the furniture and decor. It's a budget friendly way to feel brand new without costing a dime!

2. Bring the outdoors inside - pick up a plant or two (fake is an easy way to go) and make your space feel alive with some greenery 🌿

3. DIY your heart out - head on over to your nearest thrift shop and get creative! Some of my favourite items have been created from a good ol $10 find and some paint or new hardware!

4. Lighten it up - remove the heavy throws and replace with fabrics such as cotton or linen. Bring in neutrals to create a light and airy space.

5. Change it up - find a few new pieces and change up your shelf styling or centerpieces. A few staple items can make all the difference and can easily be moved from room to room to keep it fresh! Wondering where to go? Check out .co for Canadian curated items and styling inspo!
