Under the umbrella term “senior living” there is a continuum of care options available offering different levels of support and services, generally defined by the term used to describe a particular type of housing and what is offered within the community. (See image below.)
The term continuum of care refers to a range of services and supports that are available to individuals throughout different stages of life. In respect to senior living, having access to a continuum of care allows individuals to receive the right level of care at the right time and in the right setting. Most importantly, it supports an individual’s overall well being and quality of life!
