Since March 2019, some of the funds we've raised have gone to support the recovery efforts from Cyclone Idai, a devastating natural disaster that struck Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, leaving more than 1,500 people dead and many more missing. Our schools in the coastal city of Beira and the town of Vilanculos in Mozambique were deeply impacted.
In Beira, the cyclone caused significant damage to infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and buildings. Many homes were destroyed or severely damaged, leaving thousands of people homeless. The city's water and sanitation systems were also severely impacted, making it difficult for residents to access clean water and proper sanitation facilities.
In Vilanculos, the cyclone caused significant damage to the local fishing industry, which is a major source of livelihood for many residents. Many boats and fishing gear were destroyed, and the cyclone also damaged or destroyed several hotels and other tourism-related businesses.
DONATE HERE: https://bit.ly/asempoverty for disaster recovery over these holidays so that thousands of youth can continue to receive meals and continue their education.
The best day to help our youth is here. Today your donations will be 100% matched!

Amazing news! “26 years after the end of the civil war that hit Mozambique, more than 100,000 animals live in Gorongosa National Park! And the animals are doing well. It is now possible to observe lions and wild dogs, also known as wild dogs. The lion population is increasing thanks to an increasing number of healthy prey. Proof of the excellent quality of its habitat, Gorongosa is also home to over 55,000 cobes and more than 6000 impalas. The civil war that raged in Mozambique between 1976 and 1992 had reduced the park to a desert state, decimating almost 90% of mammal species. Its rebirth has made it possible to rediscover an incomparable diversity. Animal species are particularly numerous today: lions, elephants, crocodiles, birds, hippos, antelopes” (source: National Geographic) 🌍 # biodiversity Posted by - photo by
