I have talked about my business coach, Joel Goldhirsh, with many of you. It is with sadness that I share his passing this week after his courageous battle with ALS. My heart goes out to his family, especially his daughter, Kiki. ❤️‍🩹

Joel was a client of OBK in 2020 and later became my mentor, playing a pivotal role in my business journey.

After helping Joel and his wife, Karen, with unpacking and organizing, Joel offered me business advice in exchange for custom labels in his wine cellar. I accepted his offer and prepared for our meeting, even creating a PowerPoint presentation. I was both nervous and excited.

That meeting took an unexpected turn. Joel told me that my vision wasn’t ambitious enough for him to coach me. It was a harsh reality check for me.

Despite the initial setback, I continued to seek Joel’s guidance. Our subsequent meetings were emotional, with tears shed on multiple occasions.

However, these experiences spurred my personal and professional growth. I began dreaming bigger and achieved milestones that far surpassed those initial modest goals set in 2020. Nisa and I recently reflected on our progress and realized how far we had come, even surprising Joel with our achievements.

I am deeply grateful for Joel’s vision and wisdom shared in our meetings. His belief in my potential and worth has empowered me to see the boundless possibilities the world offers.
