The holidays can be a stressful time for humans and doggos alike. This is your self care reminder to slow down and be present with yourself and your dog.

Here are some ways to enjoy a slower pace which will benefit you, your dog and your relationship together:

- Stretch the stress out. Yoga with your dog can be a relaxing and playful experience.
- Enjoy a sensory walk. Allowing your dog to sniff new spots is great enrichment and while they’re busy with their nose, try to be present with your senses. What can you smell, hear or see that you haven’t noticed before?
- Cuddle. A classic and a favourite. Did you know that when we cuddle our fur babes both human and doggos experience a rise in oxytocin (the happiness hormone)?
- Try a new trick. Training is a great way to bond with your dog which can also clear your mind and help you to stay in the moment.

Hyperkeratosis is a condition caused by an excess of keratin which can leave your dogs snout (and paws) dry, crusty and cracked. When snouts and paws are cracked our pups are more vulnerable to infection.

Hydrating your pups snout and paws is key to help heal and protect against further discomfort and injury. We make our products using natural and organic ingredients that are lick safe and gentle for dogs with sensitivities. Each ingredient has its own special benefits and has been carefully and intentionally selected.

Our balms also serve as a natural sunscreen and heat protectant ☀️

We recommend applying at night in order to prevent the oils from heating and thus potentially burning the skin.

Our Snout Shtick is easy to apply and you can use if for snout and paws. We also have paw balm available with the added benefits of lavender and oats, however, we do not recommend using our paw balm on snouts as the lavender scent may be overpowering for your doggo.

It’s hard to find the words to describe all of my thoughts and feelings relating to this beautiful planet and the need to protect it. It’s overwhelming and frustrating to see so many people/corporations who STILL just don’t seem to get it. Thankfully I am surrounded by a community of amazing ethical small business owners and live in a very eco conscious area of the world which inspires me to do better every single day.

I hope many of you will take the time today to reflect on the ways that your habits effect planet earth good or bad. There is always room for improvement and today is as good of a day as any to set a goal to reduce your carbon footprint. Small and consistent efforts make all the difference. Most importantly, go outside and feel the elements. Breathe. Listen. Play.

Arlo & I have a full weekend of self care planned 💜

For Arlo that means lots of off leash adventures, new treats & paw balm. He doesn’t always love the application process but lately he been such a good boy letting me handle his paws.

& self care for me means sleeping in and getting extra doggy snuggles, eating pancakes and baking😍
I’m also excited to make a fresh batch of this miracle balm for the market next weekend 😍😍

Mount Pleasant will always hold such a special place in my heart and I cannot wait to meet all the new friends!

NATIONAL PUPPY DAY!!

Today we raise awareness about the importance of adopting and rescuing those precious canine companions that were surrendered or saved from unimaginable past lives.

In 2018 Canadian Humane Shelters took in just under 30,000 dogs. Fortunately during covid we seen high adoption rates and people seem to be committed to those adoptions even since returning to normalcy.

There are many reasons to adopt but just to name a few:
🐾 you save a life
🐾 you help break the cycle of pet overpopulation
🐾 you help stop the cruelty and unethical practices from mass breeders
🐾 you spend less and will have more money to buy treats!
🐾 you help support non profit shelters that do amazing things for many pets such as, medical care for strays, save lives, reconnect lost pets with owners and more

I joined the covid puppy club & bought Arlo from a local couple who had an accidental litter. I looked for months to adopt and applied for so many senior doggies. Fortunately the dogs were being adopted at such a fast pace I just couldn’t manage to get my paws on one! I am so grateful everyday for Arlo but I still have a definite need to contribute to those animals in shelters. I loved fostering before I got Arlo and I look forward to have the opportunity to do so again. Another way I love to contribute is by donations!!

& that is why 50% of all proceeds made for the rest of March will go to our local shelter BC SPCA.
