This week, FIMRC’s focus topic centres upon violence against women—an ongoing issue that has only worsened due to the onset of this pandemic. It is important to remain both aware of the issue as well as knowledgeable on strategies to enforce respectful, open communication among all.

This week’s global health issue is regarding contraception and family planning. This is an important issue to address as many developing counties still possess a very high fertility rate, making family planning difficult. A special thanks to for the research on this topic. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

UW FIMRC is back with another global health issue! This week we will be focusing on preterm births, which affects many individuals, with poorer countries being at a higher risk. FIMRC has lost 90% of its funding because of the pandemic, and it has been exceedingly difficult for project sites to keep serving those who are in most need. Any donation amount will be appreciated, and this will help restock the pharmacy and clinical supplies at Project Alajuelita.
