Content creation is a full time job & I simply cannot keep up. The strategy, research, and curation that tasks a content creator is overwhelming and time consuming. Posting daily, multiple times a day, even on schedule is tricky. With a 9-5 job, I have dismissed many posting “deadlines” (set by myself or should i say the algorithm lol).
As many of you know, I accepted a job in my field of education near the end of 2021. I have been working away, coming home tired, spending my “off time” hustling to sustain my small businesses presence on social media. Shooting products, editing photos, planning content, creating stories, creating reels, caption creation, hashtag research, audio research, the list goes on.

Besides working 24/7, hustle culture is not ok🙄, the algorithm hustles 10x harder to isolate you. Fighting with numbers, exposure, follows/unfollows, etc is tiring. I have lost the goals of this page to the algorithm. I have struggled to post what i want versus what the algorithm favours.

I am all about boundaries and I have begun to cross my own. Sometimes people will tell you, “when you know, you know.” Lets just say, I know.

I also want to put 100% into what I do and I am at a stage in my life where that 100% is going into my career.

Its time to say See you later Instagram. I have loved this community, the connections, and the friendships. I will leave the page open for future customers to see past makes, view reels of products, and care instructions.

2022 is around the corner and here’s what you need to know 🧐

Hookedbyrebecca is slowing social media posts down, social media has been absolutely draining this year. I have zero fun positioning items the perfect way, posting 3-5 times a week, and beating myself up over failed content posts.

I have had HUGE successes from Instagram/Facebook; however, I have found that loyal followers will follow you wherever you go!

You can catch me on Instagram posting occasionally, but I am beginning to focus on Etsy and living my dreams out through my new career 🥺

You can still purchase through my Etsy shop, ill always keep it stocked for make to order items. I will still create behind the scenes for all your personal gifting needs & you can find me more often than not through DMs.

This time of year is so difficult to capture the true colours of products. Creators often have limited windows throughout the day to capture natural lighting shots & all other moments of darkness force us to us artificial lighting.

Lighting really optimizes the overall aesthetic of pieces & draws people to your photos.

With such limited windows of natural light, I struggled this year to stage the perfect shot of each piece. However, over 80 people ordered something… THANK YOU 🙏🏼 lighting isn’t on my side but you sure are 🤍🥰
