A skillful and athletic shot-stopper from Hamilton United’s League 1 program, Nicholas is composed on the ball and well-suited to build the game from the back. The University of Windsor men’s soccer family is excited to announce that Spencer Krause has signed to play soccer for the Lancers in 2024. A tough defensive presence from Vardar’s National Academy and MLS Next programs in Michigan, the 1st Team All-District/All-Region and All-State honourable mention from Henry Ford II High School is a quick and tenacious defender who enjoys pushing the ball forward and penetrating in the attack. Spencer is a consistent competitor, an aerial threat, and a leader, who will be a great addition to the Lancer defensive core. A big Lancer welcome to Spencer!

A creative and tricky forward currently playing in the MLS Next with Vardar in Michigan, the Tecumseh, Ontario native’s ability to break down defenders on the dribble and find teammates will bring a dynamic addition to a young attacking crew. An intelligent and poised midfielder playing in the MLS Next with Vardar in Michigan, the former Nationals Union player is a versatile box-to-box performer with tactical awareness and resiliency. Welcome aboard gaffer! The Men's Soccer Program is excited for Demetri to take on the full time role!

Director of Athletics Stephanie White is pleased to announce the hiring of Demetri Vacratsis as the head coach of the Lancer men's soccer program.

Vacratsis spent the 2023-24 season as the interim head coach and the appointment is effective immediately.

“We had a strong pool of candidates apply for the head coach position, and I’m thankful for the interest in our men’s soccer program,” said White. “In the recruitment steps, Demitri demonstrated a deep knowledge of building a successful soccer program, but more importantly his understanding of the student-athlete experience signaled that he was the top candidate for the role.”

The University of Windsor men’s soccer family is excited to announce that Jacob Simmons has signed to play soccer for the Lancers in 2024. An experienced, elite goalkeeper from Gatineau, Quebec, Jacob is an NCAA D1 transfer from the University of Central Arkansas. Jacob was the starting keeper in the Premiere Ligue de Soccer du Quebec for Ottawa South United’s first team last season and will be a great addition to a tight keeping crew.
