Well it's been awhile. Life gets away from you! But voila, I took my book out today and started a new chapter and finished it before bed!! Here's to more chapters and hopefully a full book by the end of 2022!

Time to get back on track. With selling our house and buying another we have been very busy! I am officially tonight starting anew chapter of my book!

I have been having a hard time putting Chapter 6 together. I kept writing ideas and writing sentences although some didn't make sense and some were for future Chapters, BUT finally, it came to me today about how the Chapter needed to end.
I had a whole outline of my book but as I write the characters take over and give new ideas! At time's the journey is hard but if you keep at it and don't give up in the end you feel accomplished!
This journey is amazing! I can't wait to finish this masterpiece!

This would be my ideal setting while writing. Show me what you dream of? Or maybe you have it already.

This is so true! I wrote a full outline of my book and as I write the outline changes. The characters tell me what they want; I don't tell them. I tell their story..... that's it.

After today, I am off from my full-time job till next Wednesday. I will be with my new laptop telling my character's story!

A weekend of writing and some restructuring of how the story will play out and how it's read by the reader and I definitely glad I took in the advice of Margaret Atwood's masterclass!

Chapter 4 became Chapter 1. And the story is being told by the main character and not the author. What a difference in what is felt.

A weekend of writing in another life....

The next adventure for the 2 main characters is Scotland. If you have been there, can you describe it in 1 sentence? I am doing my research, but would love to hear from people who have explored what looks to be a beautiful place!

5 Chapters completed! Over 20, 000 words! 56 pages! This chapter was the hardest. It seems to be that Chapter that I am still going to have to go back and spice it up! On to Chapter 6 and going to Scotland! This will be more motivating!

What are your dreams? Goals? It is never to late to go after them! ๐Ÿ’ž

Mine, putting words on paper to make my 1st book! 2000 words yesterday, will see what today brings!

This is a small excerpt from Chapter 4. A Chapter that I cry every time I reread.

When they left the hospital, Clara kept the note in her hand. Staring at it, listening to his voice inside saying over and over, โ€œI love you, Gal!โ€

I base a character in my book off of what my grandpa was like. He never told me he loved me until I was 35 when my grandma Pat was very sick. Out of the blue, he said, "I love you, gal!" This was our thing until he passed away! I didn't have a title to my book till I wrote this chapter! It was right in my face. This book will be dedicated to my grandpa Al! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Steep tea and words flowing! Its wonderful!

Some will be surprised to know that I have enjoyed writing all my life. Putting pen to paper, or fingers to a keyboard, I am in my happy place. I believe this love comes from the fact that I am not good with on-the-spot speeches or fixing a problem immediately. With writing, I can go back and edit, and make it better than ever. I am now in my upper 40s and decided since this is such a passion and I have so many ideas up in this head of mine, 2021 was going to be the year to take ideas and make a book!

I have 4 full chapters completed and number 5 on the go, 6 weeks into this project and I am very happy with it so far! I have had a real-life editor edit my 1st chapter to get a sense of where my writing is at. That came back better than I expected. I moved the editor with parts of this first chapter, spelling was great, structuring of sentences needed work, but thatโ€™s why you get an editor!

I look forward to bringing you on my 2021 JOURNEY of bringing my book over the finish line! I will share excerpts from my book, and get you to discuss your passions that maybe you need some encouragement to get started! Letโ€™s encourage one another and make 2021 our year!
