A couple of weeks ago, our tenants boarded the Bergen Gardens bus and headed to , an iconic pumpkin patch located North of Winnipeg in St. Andrews.

We spent the afternoon in the pumpkin patch, picking out the perfect pumpkin to carve 🔪🎃.
 
Thank you so much to the Schwabe family for having all of us down at the farm. Our tenants had so much and we look forward to coming back again next year 🩵.

At Bergen Gardens, our mission is to empower all our tenants with the opportunity to discuss and debate how they want to live🗣️.

Our tenants meet with a mentor or care partner that helps them plan their weeks 🗓️. We discuss meal planning, upcoming activities, or fundraising projects they want to work on👌.

We believe everyone, no matter their age or ability, brings something of value to this community that is uniquely them 🙂.

Today, we had a blast hosting a Wellness Fair for our tenants and their families 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒.

It was a great opportunity for our community to see the variety of health and wellness offerings we provide all under one roof ✨.
 
We support our community with all the dimensions of wellness by providing our tenants with excellent care and connecting them with the services our key partners offer 🤗.
 
Speaking of, thanks to all of our partners and vendors for providing your expertise and connecting with our community 👏.

Our weekly group chair exercise sessions benefit our community — here’s how ⬇️

1️⃣ Boost Circulation
🩸Gentle movements encourage circulation which reduces the risk of swelling and blood clots.

2️⃣Increase Mobility
🏃We move our joints and muscles through a full range of movement, increasing mobility over time.

3️⃣Promite Muscle Strenth & Balance
💪Chair exercises target leg, arm, and core muscles to help residents perform everyday tasks like standing up!

4️⃣Enhance Mood & Cognitive Clarity
🧠Exercise releases endorphins, which reduces feelings of anxiety and depression.

5️⃣Reduce Stiffness & Aches
🤕Regular movement helps reduce pain for those experiencing arthritis and\or stiffness.

6️⃣Encourage Social Connection
🗣️Exercising together promotes social interaction and encourages our community to support one another.
