On site photographing council members for the 13th year for my client. Grateful for the continued support. Kind of fun to see the progression over the years of the council photos.
All the photos are on display in their offices. Can you tell when we had to switch what we were doing due to Covid? Sometimes things happen for a reason. It’s become the preferred layout moving forward.

Want something a little different for your business portrait? Does a standard studio portrait not quite tell the story of who you are and what you do? Jillian from Authentic You Fitness & Reiki wanted a natural outdoor setting as that aligned with her personality and her business. Not only is she a personal trainer and yoga instructor, but she’s also a Reiki master. What’s Reiki? “Reiki uses universal life force energy to move unwanted energies out of the body. Through regular reiki sessions, one can begin to heal both energetically and physically.”

Transformation Thursday!
Summer is here! Now is the perfect time to book your family portrait session at you favourite summer spot.
Photographing outdoors can be a challenge, mostly due to the weather. And picking the right time of day is key, however the ideal time may not always be the best time for the clients…or the kids!
But a skilled professional photographer knows how to work with the light and retouch the images to create the perfect portrait to be proudly hung in the clients home.

It’s never too late to late to book your summer session and create a beautiful portrait of your own. Let’s start the planning now!

Transformation Thursdays!
With product photography the transformation details are often very subtle, but they are there and super important when it comes to creating the perfect final image. In many cases the product isn’t 100% perfect when you are photographing it. They can often be “samples”, So there can be slight imperfections. However, these imperfections can’t be visible in the final images. That’s where my retouching skills come into play! Can you spot what was retouched to create the final images for by client?

Transformation Thursdays!
Guest rooms are some of the trickiest to photograph. A lot of skill, experience and time is involved in not only capturing all the required images while shooting, but then using those images to create the final image in Photoshop. My goal is for the final image to look natural and not have an over processed HDR (High Dynamic Range) look to it. I do not just push the HDR button, I personally retouch every image to get the final results that my clients have come to expect from me.

Todays image is from a few years ago from the newly built, at that time, IJL. (Independent Jewellers, since 1937). It’s one that I’ve always been happy with how it turned out. And not only because it features ROLEX!
The transformation details may be subtle, but do make a huge impact on the overall final image.
The client specifically asked me to see what I can do with the floor to even it out. I always like a good challenge! (There’s a story behind why it has to be done…I’ll might tell you over a drink. 😉)

Transformation Thursday!
It’s grad season all over Canada. Not only for High Schools, but Universities as well.
This year my daughter graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Canadian Mennonite University. Her long-term goals are to pursue further education in Clinical/Counselling Psychology in hopes of working as a therapist in the future.
I know I wanted to make her graduation portraits special and stand out from the rest and add my own unique on it. I told her to bring her diploma along. She knew what I was up to. 😉😆 Can you find the subtle details in the background to create a truly one if a kind portrait?

Client Quote: “O.M.G!!!! They are amazing!! I am so excited about them. You totally captured the look and feel we were going for. You are very talented. I am so happy we got to work together again!” 🧡
Today, one of the images from this recent hotel assignment in Regina, Canada…The Hotel Saskatchewan, built in 1927…an absolutely stunning property! You are transported back in time to the prohibition years around every corner of the hotel and the special services they provide for a truly memorable stay. (More images to come in the coming weeks)
My client had a clear vision of what she wanted. After meetings, emails and shoot day styling, I created the images she envisioned!
The transformation didn’t take place with just the retouching. It starts at the shoot with the movement or addition of the items, changing the lighting conditions and final exposure to create the prefect image.
Can you spot them all from the initial image to the final file delivered to the client?

Transformation Thursdays! I’m starting this new weekly post to demonstrate that what you see in the final image isn’t just straight out of the camera. A lot of skill, experience and time is involved in not only capturing all the required images while shooting, but then using those images to create the final image.
I not only photograph all my assignments, but I also retouch them myself personally. I do not send them out to a retouching company overseas that charges pennies to do so.
My vision and creative process starts from the moment I look through the camera to when I’m saving the final cropped retouched image ready to transfer to my client.

Composition will elevate an image. It presents that photo as a work of art, rather than a photo that documents something. Artful interior design photography composition also makes the design elements stand out. Aren’t these what you are looking to show off!
