Rolex Oyster Case

The ROLEX Oyster case, the world’s first waterproof wristwatch case, houses an intricate world of cogs and minutely crafted parts, and is incomparably resistant to all sorts of external aggressions. With the original 1926 patented design consisting of a bezel, case back and winding crown screwed down against the middle case, it profoundly changed the course of watchmaking history and set new standards of waterproofness for all wristwatches. It remains an emblem of Rolex's constant quest for reliability. #Rolex #Watchmaking #OfficialRolexRetailer #IJL #IJLSince1937

Rolex Rotor
The Perpetual rotor is ROLEX’s automatic winding mechanism. It enables the watch to be constantly wound by the wrist’s movement. Invented in the brand's workshops, then patented, it was introduced in 1931. In a constant state of unstable equilibrium, the half-moon oscillating weight rotates with every gesture. The energy generated is transferred to the mainspring, which is continually wound, ultimately moving the watch hands. Regularly. Precisely. For though they all seek balance, it is imbalance that drives Rolex to move, perpetually. #Rolex #Watchmaking #OfficialRolexRetailer #IJL #IJLSince1937

Rolex Parachrom Hairspring
An essential guardian of the watch’s chronometric precision, the Parachrom hairspring is entirely designed and manufactured by ROLEX. Its edge is thinner than a single strand of hair, its weight a fraction of a pearl’s. Why blue? Because this hue is true to the tradition of watchmaking excellence. It is the exact colour taken by the brand's unique alloy of niobium, zirconium and oxygen when it has been anodized to stop the process of oxidation. This blue is essential to Rolex, because it symbolizes the long-lasting performances they hold themselves to. This hairspring is unaffected by temperature variations and offers resistance to strong magnetic fields and shocks. Each Rolex watch equipped with the Parachrom hairspring will tick at a most regular and perpetual beat. #Rolex #Watchmaking #OfficialRolexRetailer #IJLSince1937 #IJL

Precious and technical. Majestic and innovative. A bright watch for the dark abyss. The new version of the Oyster Perpetual ROLEX Deepsea is engineered to shine into the ocean depths. This divers’ watch is presented in 18ct yellow gold and sports a blue lacquer dial as well as a Cerachrom bezel insert in blue ceramic. For the first time, the high-performance compression ring of the Ringlock system is made of high-technology ceramic, which is also blue. #Rolex #RolexDeepsea #WatchesandWonders2024 #IJL

Rolex Deepsea
The ROLEX Deepsea is presented in 18ct yellow gold for the first time, featuring a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom bezel insert in blue ceramic as well as a blue lacquer dial bearing the name “DEEPSEA” in powdered yellow. This new version also incorporates a technical innovation: the high-performance compression ring within the Ringlock system is crafted from blue ceramic. The case back in RLX titanium is edged with fine fluting and hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. Its Oyster bracelet in 18ct gold is equipped with an Oysterlock folding safety clasp and the Rolex Glidelock extension system. It also includes patented ceramic inserts inside the links to enhance its flexibility on the wrist and its longevity. #Rolex #RolexDeepsea #WatchesandWonders2024 #IJL

Rolex Deepsea Challenge
To the bottom of the ocean and back. The ROLEX Deepsea Challenge is the wearable version of the Rolex experimental watch that in 2012 accompanied James Cameron to the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean. It is crafted from RLX titanium, a grade 5 titanium selected by the brand for its weightlessness and resistance to corrosion. Thanks to its carefully considered design and proportions, this 50mm divers’ watch is both comfortable to wear and visually harmonious. Guaranteed waterproof to 11,000m/36,090ft, the Deepsea Challenge is a symbol of Rolex’s mastery of the depths.#Rolex #DeepseaChallenge #OfficialRolexRetailer #IJL

Introduced in 2005, the @Rolex Paraflex shock absorber is designed to neutralize all the effects of the knocks and bumps of everyday life. No bigger than a grain of rice, the Paraflex moves one way and then the other, all within a fraction of a second. On the one hand, it bends at each impact to disperse the energy, then returns to its original shape. On the other, it displaces itself to ensure the functionality of the balance wheel and escapement anchor. It is through this unique ballet of deformation and displacement that the Paraflex preserves the watch’s movement with its own. #Rolex #Watchmaking #OfficialRolexRetailer #IJLSince1937

Rolex Watchmaking
What makes a ROLEX a Rolex? It’s not the wheels and cogs. Not the steel they shape, the gold they forge. It’s not the sum of every single part that the brand designs, crafts, polishes and assembles with countless skills and constant care. It’s the time it takes. The numerous days and months that are necessary until they can print this single word on each individual dial leaving Rolex's workshops: “Superlative”. It’s the mark of their autonomy, responsibility and integrity. Learn more https://ijl.ca/pages/rolex-watchmaking #IJL #Since1937 #Rolex #Watchmaking #OfficialRolexRetailer
