In Türkiye and Syria, the psychological impacts of the earthquakes are monumental, taking years for people to recover from.

Turkish Red Crescent Türk Kızılay staff member Tuba Balcikli speaks with Elif, who lost her husband and home in the earthquake, near the town of Nurdağı, Türkiye.

Teams from Turkish Red Crescent offered her mental health support.

Teams from Syrian Arab Red Crescent - الهلال الأحمر العربي السوري are providing healthcare for thousands of affected people through mobile health units and mental health teams.

Volunteers have kept children learning and playing since the earthquake happened.

With IFRC teams, Червоний Хрест України has provided psychosocial support to hundreds of thousands of people including children.

The devastating drought in Somalia is pushing communities into hunger and displacement.

Salaado, a 65-year-old grandmother, was one of them. She is now able to support her grandchildren with food and education thanks to EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid provided by Somali Red Crescent.

Despite the freezing cold, Syrians are opting to sleep in open spaces or in their cars.

After almost 12 years of conflict people are exhausted and scared. The fear of the unknown adds salt to the wound.
